Coir Mix is a great option for growing on the dry side. Similar to v\ Vermiculite, coconut coir improves wetting and rewetting of mixes without sacrificing crucial air porosity. This widely used blend is designed for flats and containers up to 12". A versatile blend for any greenhouse operation, the original Flat and Pack mix is a tried and true peat based greenhouse blend. This mix is ideal for flats and containers up to 12". This popular variant of Flat and Pack includes parboiled rice hulls, which is a sustainable cost effective alternative to perlite. Parboiled rice hulls perform as well as perlite in creating air porosity without the tendency to persist in the landscape. This versatile mix is ideal for flats and containers up to 12". The addition of Vermiculite in the Flat and Pack Plus helps the mix retain moisture, increases nutrient holding capacity and helps to buffer the pH. One of the more widely used blends in the industry, it is optimized for flats and containers up to 12". High Porosity Mix is a pine-based mix that is well suited for larger containers. It holds up well to settling and degradation over longer crop cycles. This mix is ideal for container sizes 4" and larger. Also great for shifting up smaller plants and production of premium 4-6" annuals. This blend contains coarse pine bark to maintain stability of the soil structure and porosity over longer crop cycles. Coconut coir improves wetting and rewetting of mixes and reduces shrinkage from dry down cycles. Ideal for mixed planters or specimen annuals and perennials in 12" containers and larger. Cost effective growing media that is well suited for mum production and can be used for many crop types and container sizes.

Increase your profit opportunities on small jobs of 1 cubic yard or less by using our new
MIDWEST LANDSCAPERS PRO™ No more mess: No more dumping a bulk pile, no more stains on hard surfaces and no more tracking footprints. Keep things clean and organized – get in and out quicker. No extra clean up after the product is installed, then easily return extra bags to your yard or keep in the truck as backup. Easy touch-ups: No need to use valuable resources sending someone back to your yard to get additional
mulch. Have a couple extra bags on hand for easy touch-ups and back up. Maintenance can be done on the spot when homeowners ask, and maintenance crews can keep extra bags in their truck at all times.
Save time and money: Make loading, unloading and installation faster and easier by using bags. Without a bulk pile you won’t have to shovel as much. Who doesn’t want less shoveling? This also means crews can work more efficiently – reducing time spent on the job and saving you valuable labor hours. 100% volume accuracy: Forget about questioning small loads measured with an end loader; know
exactly what you’re buying and exactly what you’re installing. Don’t risk your crews bringing too much or too little to the jobsite. (Our LoadScan has 100% volume accuracy for your full semi loads of certain products)
Increase efficiency: Getting the job done quicker, more safely and more accurately will allow you more time to get more jobs done with less labor.
Minimize risk: You won’t have to unhook your trailer or dump a bulk pile when using bags, which
increases overall safety for workers. Less chance for injury makes the job safer and easier. Cut down on business risk and increase reward.
Less wear and tear on your equipment:
Less unhooking trailers and dumping bulk piles helps extend the life of your equipment. Less wear and tear means less maintenance and fewer repairs. Save your time and money for something else.
Increase versatility: Have a variety of bagged products on your truck without having to separate them or
run the risk of products mixing together. Increase your versatility and make your life easier.
Weather tolerant: With bagged products you can worry less about bad weather. Weather tolerance gives you more convenience and less delay. Don’t let the weather dampen your work; stay ahead of the game by having a game plan; use bagged products. • No more mess • Minimize risk • Easy touch-ups • Less wear and tear on equipment • Save time and money • Increase versatility • 100% volume accuracy • Weather tolerant • Increase efficiency For a list of all bagged products, look for pricing on page 21. VERSAQUONSET GREENHOUSES VersaQuonset Kits Our standard VersaQuonsets are 80' in length. Custom lengths are available in 4' increments. Poly and Shade Cloth not included. When ordering a 16' VersaQuonset, or the 16', 20' or 24' Pro-Line, you will see a slightly different look due to our computerized pipebending equipment. The bend starts out straight, approximately 1 ft on the 16' hoop, 1 ft. 8 inches on the 20' hoop, and 4' on the 24' hoop, and then arches. Our VersaQuonset 13 & 22 have not changed. If you are replacing or adding to an existing house, please let us know and we can custom bend the tubing for you in the original design (original design is for houses built before 2003). Midwest Trading does not custom cut steel hoops and sells only the listed widths.

VERSAQUONSET GREENHOUSES Pro-Line Heavy Duty VersaQuonset Kits The 16', 20', and 24' Pro-Line VersaQuonset Greenhouses are made of stronger 1 5/8" o.d., 15 gauge tubing. Heavy duty cross connectors and ground sleeves are used to achieve greater rigidity. They are ideal for areas (like open fields) that are not protected from extreme weather conditions. Also, an excellent choice for bin covers (more hardware required). We offer 3' through 6' risers to extend the height of your house. Custom poly and shade cloth are available by special order, not included in price (please allow 3 weeks).

GLOSSARY OF TERMS DEFINITION
Aeration
Loosening the soil to provide more airflow around the roots, which is critical to healthy plant growth.
Air Porosity
A term describing the internal volume of a growing media that provides air and, more importantly, oxygen to the root system. Reported as a percentage.
Amendments
A soil-conditioning substance that promotes plant growth indirectly by improving such soil qualities as porosity, moisture retention and pH balance.
Aspen Excelsior Fibers
Thin, curled strands of wood fibers that have small barbed edges, providing an interlocking feature.
Blue Chip
A slow release form of Nitrogen (38-0-0) that releases based on microbial activity in the soil.
Calcitic Lime
AKA High Calcium Lime, Hi-Cal. Derived from Calcium Carbonate and used to increase pH.
Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss
Partially decomposed sphagnum moss. Used for its combination of water retention, air porosity and low pH.
Coconut Coir
A natural fiber extracted from the husks of coconuts. Used for ability to easily rewet and retain moisture. pH near neutral.
Compost
A partially decomposed organic matter. Can be derived from plant residues or animal manures.
Controlled Release Fertilizer
A coated fertilizer referred to as a prill. This can be straight NPK, mix of NPK and micronutrients or NPK plus micronutrients in the same prill. The length of release is determined by coating thickness.
Dolomitic Lime
Derived from deposits of calcium carbonate combined with magnesium carbonate. Used to increase pH of soil.
Erosion
The concept of soil loss caused by rain or wind. Use of erosion control blankets, mulch and plant material help prevent soil erosion.
Expanded Clay Aggregate
Inert lightweight aggregate made from heating mined clay in a kiln at high temperatures to expand and harden. Three gradations (Coarse, Medium, Fine) used primarily in greenroof applications but can be adapted whenever lightweight aggregate is desired.
Frost-heave
The uplift of water-saturated soil or other surface deposits caused by the freezing of internal moisture. This can be reduced through proper mulching of soil beds.
Galvanized
To coat metal with zinc.
German FLL Standards
A standard for greenroof media design developed in Germany that specifies performance criteria such as air porosity and infiltration under laboratory compaction, particle size distribution and organic matter content.
Gypsum
Hydrated Calcium sulfate used to provide Calcium and Sulfur in soil and to loosen heavy clay soils.
Hardwood Bark Fines
A fine textured bark mulch that retains moisture, moderates soil temperature, reduces weed growth and prevents frost heaving.
Hydro-gel Stabilizer
Stabilizes the dispersion of polymerization, a chemical reaction in which two or more molecules combine to form larger molecules that contain repeating structural units.
Iron Sulfate
Also known as Ferrous Sulfate, used to lower soil pH and provide Iron (Fe) and Sulfur (S).
Leaf Mulch
A natural product finely ground and screened from leaves of woody plants that conditions the soil, improves water retention and provides a home for earthworms and beneficial microbial activity.
Microbial Activity
A potential indicator of soil quality to mineralize organic nutrients for growth and development.
Mulch
To add soil cover of organic materials such as processed bark or compost. Reduces weed seed pressure, evaporation and helps regulate soil temperature.
Mushroom Compost
Spent Mushroom Substrate used in mushroom production.
Mycorrhizae
An organism known to form symbiotic relationships with the root system. Acts as an extension of root system and can increase absorption of some plant nutrients and water.
N-P-K fertilizer analysis
The 3 numbers in a fertilizer represent the percent of the Nitrogen, Phosphorus (P2O5), and Potassium/Potash (K2O).
Organic Matter
Measurement of carbon in material. Mineral soil range 2-5% by weight. Compost range 35-60% by weight. Tested by Loss on Ignition by burning organic matter off at high temperatures.
Parboiled Rice Hulls
A managed byproduct of parboiled rice. Can be used as mulch in container production to reduce weed pressure, used in growing media to provide air porosity to a mix.

TERM
DEFINITION
Perlite
A volcanic ore that is heated at high temperatures and pops like popcorn. It is an inert lightweight aggregate used for providing air porosity in growing media.
pH
The concentration of hydrogen ions in soil solution; has impact on nutrient availability in soil. The pH of growing media is generally 5.5-6.5, field soil pH is generally 6.5-7.5.
Phosphorus
Added in to growing media in a form of triple superphosphate (0-46-0).
Quonset
A building made of corrugated metal or structure pipes (hoops).
Sand
A mineral aggregate used in soil blends to increase drainage. Used in soilless media to provide weight to containers.
Soil texture
The texture of a soil refers to the percent sand, silt, clay sized particles in a soil. They are split up into 12 groups of a soil triangle: clay; silty clay, silty clay loam, silt loam, silt, clay loam, loam, sandy clay, sandy clay loam, sandy loam, loamy sand, sand.
Soil vs soilless etc
The terms: soil, soilless, media, mix, substrate, dirt are often used in combination and interchangeably. The most important distinction is if a media has mineral soil in it or not. If it does not, it is soilless.
Southern Pine Bark Fines
A high quality, fine-textured pine bark for container growing and mulching. Reduces weed growth, retains moisture and may help lower pH.
Spent Mushroom Substrate (SMS)
Nutrient rich compost media. Mushrooms are grown in a composted media and after harvest, the media is steam pasteurized and becomes Spent Mushroom Substrate.
Starter Charge
A balanced fertilizer applied to mainly greenhouse growing media to provide short term nutrient availability.
Topsoil
The top layer of soil characterized by dark color and higher organic matter.
UV Resistance
An additive to plastic film that reduces the effects of exposure to UV light from the sun which will degrade plastic over time.
Vermiculite
An expanded clay mineral utilized as seedling cover or in growing media to retain moisture without reducing air porosity.
Water Holding Capacity
A term describing the internal volume of a growing media that provides water retention. Reported as a percentage.

Our cancellation policy is as follows: • Scheduled deliveries must be cancelled at least 24 hours prior to their start time or a $25.00 cancellation fee will be charged. • Any orders cancelled while a truck is in route to Midwest Trading for pick up or on site for loading will be charged a $100.00 fee. • Any load cancelled while the truck is in route to the delivery site and is forced to return to the yard will be billed at $100.00 per hour. • If the truck is at the delivery site and the load is refused by the customer, the load will be billed at the full freight rate quoted plus any unloading charges. This policy will help us better serve our customers and keep freight costs as low as possible. Thank you for your cooperation. FUEL SURCHARGE: Due to the uncertainty of diesel fuel prices, it may become necessary to add a fuel surcharge to the fees charged for delivery. Fuel surcharges are calculated as a percent of the freight fees and adjusted on a weekly basis. Midwest Trading, Inc. uses the U.S. Energy Information Administration Midwest average price for a gallon of diesel fuel as the basis for calculating fuel surcharges.

MIDWEST GIVES BACK
Midwest Trading proudly supports the green industry organizations and our partners as well as the community by giving back with in-kind donations toward beautification projects. These community entities include local social service agencies, schools and non-profit foundations.
In 2018, Midwest Trading donated Compost Mix to Smart Farm, a volunteerrun, non-profit organization whose mission is twofold: to grow fresh produce for neighbors in need and to be an educational resource on sustainable gardening practices and healthy eating. In 2018, Smart Farm donated over 14,500 lbs to the underserved in our community and logged over 1,600 volunteer hours. While the heartbeat of Smart Farm is the dedication of our volunteers, we couldn’t achieve these results without the support of organizations such as Midwest Trading. I am confident that the Compost Mix from Midwest Trading, helped us double our production this year. This fall we will begin creating a permaculture plan for our new property. We are excited to create a farm that will be able to sustain itself into the future. We look forward to growing together with Midwest Trading. - Katherine Gabelman, Smart Farm
