Oh, hi there! I am very excited to bring you the first edition of some featured weddings captured by yours truly. MB Captured is for the Bride who wants to capture the pure essence of her wedding day. The fleeting moments and the ones in between. Stylistic details and real connections in raw and honest moments, allowing your day to naturally unfold. I am less about the poses and more about the honest and real connection between the Bride and Groom. For packages or further information, see the back of this magazine or contact monika@mbcaptured.com

About me Raised as an only child by a single mother, we had our fair share of adventures. The greatest one was travelling around Australia in a ‘grasshopper green’ Kombi van in 1992 with our dog, Rolly. It was the kind of life we led, carefree and fun. These days I am the mum, of a cheeky threenager and a 1 year old, aka; Jack + Emily. I spend my days in our seaside town, Ocean Grove Victoria, sipping big cups of coffee with my husband and planning our next adventure. You can follow my ‘behind-the-scenes’ + lifestyle on instagram @monika_berry or see some of my latest work @mb_captured Mon. Xx

Brands I Love Finding good services in the wedding industry is priceless. The bridal industry can be like a vortex of hidden fees, sleezy sales and unreliable vendors. It can make the experience of planning your wedding stressful and lose sight of what it is you are actually planning, which is a ceremony of love! These are some of the brands I truly love, these are not paid advertisements, these are brands I have worked with personally and admire.

Ready Set Glow A brilliant online resource for the bride-to-be, offering wellness programs, stress-free planning tips, checklists and real bride stories (see mine here) to name a few.

As Daisy Does Florst based in a rustic warehouse at 16 Rutland street in Newtown, she spends her days potting plants, bunching flowers and hooning (sensibly) around Geelong delivering her floral goodness. I personally have some artwork stocked here, from my latest Photographic Art collection, she has created a space and service for customers unlike any other florist.

The First Look

Wedding Photography

When you imagine your wedding day, above all you want it to be a true reflection of your love, your story and your commitment to each other, surrounded by your loved ones. You don't want to feel stressed, under pressure or doing things that aren't natural. Afterall, this is your wedding day, a day to celebrate your love. Your photographer should be there to capture everything as it unfolds, naturally. The tiny decor details, fleeting moments, raw emotion and human connection. These are the things I feel passionate about, to capture the day for a lifetime of memories to reflect on.

Your wedding photographer spends most of the day with you, so it is really (like really) important that you feel totally comfortable in their presence. If you have a mood board on Pinterest, be sure to share this with them, ensure their style flows well with the images you have in your mood board.

When we work together, I set up a meet and greet (or via skype/phone if its not possible in person), we drink coffee (because, coffee) and talk all about your day and ideas for me to capture it all perfectly.

As your wedding photographer, I don't take it for granted that I am there to capture your wedding. After planning my own wedding, I know how many hours are spent planning the tiny details that all come together to create your unique wedding day. In fact, I am absolutely honoured you are even here right now. The planning process is often underrated, it is actually a wonderful experience that will form part of your wedding day memories. It should be exciting and come with ease. Which is why I have a little toolkit to help make the process much easier, before and on the day. Mon.

"Dear Monika, Firstly, we can’t describe how incredibly happy we are that we chose you as our wedding photographer. You were able to capture our day in the most magical way, your energy was so calming and you are so passionate about your work. You captured the love, the laughter, the joy and all the emotions of the day with your amazing gift. We were completely blown away when we received our photo’s, the attention to detail was second to none, not only were our photo’s amazing, your professionalism prior, during and after the wedding has been outstanding. We both feel so lucky with how the day went, we had an absolute ball and for you to capture it in such a beautiful way is simply priceless. Thankyou again for all your time and effort, your love for what you do shines through in your work. Love Mr & Mrs Miller x x" Tara Miller (Mr + Mrs Miller 2015)

I was blown away by the photographs we received from our wedding day. The moment I saw the photos for the first time it brought back every one of those stomach knots I felt on the day, the excitement of seeing my groom at the end of the isle and sheer happiness of being pronounced husband and wife. They really blew both me and Dave away. Indra Webster (Mr + Mrs Webster 2013)

"Monika is such a beautiful photographer, capturing natural beauty in all of us. she was so easy going and made memories so wonderful. " Jessamy Doyle (Mr + Mrs Doyle 2016)
