ince 2004, thousands of Atlantan’s have gathered on one weekend a year for what has become the largest natural product convention in the Southeast. The event is Alive! Expo and its recent 2009 show drew close to 18,000 people, ranging from the most devout health enthusiasts to people simply searching for a better, more natural way to eat, work and play, proving that the wellness revolution is in full swing in Atlanta. This year’s expo ran from May 16th-17th and even the wet and windy weather and the stormy economy couldn’t keep this year’s excited attendees from making it to the Georgia World Congress Center for some seriously healthy fun. “The excitement of Alive! Expo is palpable every year and Progressive Medical Center wouldn’t miss it for the world”, says Founder and Medical Director of Progressive Medical Center and long time exhibitor at Alive! Expo, Dr. Gez Agolli. The expansive conference floor Healthier Atlanta Magazine

was a veritable playground for the senses, where attendees were met with the sounds, sights, and smells of all things committed to a wellrounded and well-nourished lifestyle. The taste bud tempting aromas of dishes prepared by some of Atlanta’s most health conscious and respectable restaurants, like Genki Noodles and Sushi and Dantanna’s, wafted throughout the room and ensured no appetite was left unsatisfied. Information-rich seminars and classes were given by some of the nation’s most formidable experts in their areas of specialization, like The Truth About Beauty author, Kat James, who spoke about her own transformation to a slimmer, healthier self through the power of natural living. Goodie-bags overflowed with a bounty of free natural product samples from vendors that ran the gamut of industries, from pet treats manufacturers, nutritional supplements and organic cosmetics, to kid snacks, and more. In addition, guests took advantage of deeply discounted 404-629-0446

and free services, right on site. While this year’s expo may be over, its message of living your most vibrant life, through products, treatments and activities that promote health through a natural lifestyle, lives on.
