Strange Facts About Babies And Parenting By Tony Luck
1. Men are officially the best at changing a baby!
2.
Research shows that the average time taken by a woman to change baby is 2 minutes and 5 seconds, whereas the average man takes 1 minute and 36 seconds! Expert in male and female behavior Corinne Sweet says, ‘Changing a baby is essentially a mechanical process, men approach it like a pit stop; they want it over as quickly as possible’. So come on guys, you’re the experts!! Eating fish during pregnancy can boost your baby’s brain development and give him better communication and language skills. A study of 7,000 mothers found that those who ate fish at least once per week had babies who scored higher in verbal skills at 15 months than those whose mothers ate no fish.

earache in babies say scientists. They found that infants in homes where air fresheners and aerosols were used every day were 32% more likely to suffer from stomach and ear complaints. Will your baby be left or right-handed? It’s decided as early as 10 weeks gestation say researchers who found that babies in the womb favor one hand over the other, the same one they’ll prefer to use in life.

Cleanliness Is Key In Day Care Centers by: Kris Starliper
Sanitation is an important issue in today’s modern day care centers as more and more children find it their “home away from home.” There are an increasing number of families where both parents are in the workforce, mainly out of financial necessity, and the fear of sending a healthy child to day care and picking him or her up at the end of the day with a cold or worse, is often a parent’s worst nightmare. However, putting a child in day care is sometimes the only option available for working parents.
Southwest Parenting Magazine
Fortunately, it is no longer considered a solution of last resort. Day care facilities are much cleaner and healthier today than in years past, thanks to increased scrutiny and regulation. They have also become an important c o m p o n e n t i n a c h i l d ’s emotion a l a n d i n t e l l e c t u a l development. Receiving stimulation from trained professionals and learning socialization skills are beneficial to a child’s growth. 404-629-0446

P r o p e r sanitation is critical in a day care center environment, since so many children congregating in such close proximity b e c o m e a breeding ground for germs. Although state and local jurisdictions require day care facilities to adhere to strict guidelines and regulations, it

is sometimes difficult to keep everything spic and span all the time. Frequent inspections by regulators will assure parents that day care centers are following the rules, but parents also have to take some responsibility for cleanliness. One of the easiest ways to ensure proper sanitation is by frequent hand washing with anti-bacterial soap. This is absolutely essential. Parents should inquire about hand washing and infection control policies and discuss other methods the day care center uses to keep toys, utensils and play
areas germ free. Practicing good hygiene, frequent hand washing and adhering to infection control protocol will keep the spread of germs to a minimum, lessening the chance of illness in the children. Parents should do their part to practice the same personal good hygiene at home, as the day care providers practice at the center. Parents should also be responsible and keep their children home when they exhibit signs of illness, especially runny noses, upset stomachs and diarrhea. Mutual collaboration and cooperation between parents and providers can keep contamination and sickness to a minimum. And isn’t this everyone’s goal? Southwest Parenting Magazine

Chinese Conception Chart for Making a Guess at Your Baby’s Gender by: Henry Fong http://www.ArticleBiz.com
When waiting to see what the gender of your baby is going to be, the Chinese conception chart is a fun way to get a guess. This chart has been around for many centuries and is said to have been found in a royal tomb. It is now in the Beijing Institute of Science in China on display.
31, and 43. The second best ages are 25, 27, 36, 37, 41, and 44. If you are 28, 29, 35, 40, 42, or 45, there is a 50% chance of having
When looking at the spread you can notice that boys are more common when you look at the ages, but when looking at the conception month it is fifty-fifty. Of course, there are the many ages and couple of months that are a fifty-fifty chance anyway. It is curious thing to notice when pregnant at what age you are not only the month you conceived but the odds of it being a boy or girl at any month.
The chart is not completely accurate. The method of determining gender uses the woman’s age and month of conception. The most accurate results use lunar months instead of the regular months. These months run about 29 days. When the chart is broken down into age and conception month, you get an idea just about what you will be having anyway. That is if you are taking the chart seriously. The age range on the chart is 18 to 45. The best ages to be more likely to pop out a girl according to the chart are 21, 22, 30, 31, 32, 34. The second best ages are 19, 24, and 33. The best ages to have a boy are 18, 20, 23, 26,

a boy or girl. The conception months on the chart are not as diverse as the ages, but there are some odds to take into account. The odds of having a boy are 3 to 4 in January, February, May and October, and an outstanding 9 to 19 in July. The odds are 15 to 13 of having a girl in June, August, September, and November, and 404-629-0446

The Chinese conception chart should be used for entertainment purposes only. This should not be used to help you get an idea of what color to paint the baby’s room or what kind of clothes to pick out. That is what your doctor is for. So, have some fun with the chart. Who knows it may turn out correct. There are only one of two things your baby can be.

5 Ways to Get Your Child to Listen to You by: Paula Hardesty

5. Don’t just bark the command,
“go clean your room!” or “do your homework!” When was the last time you offered to help your youngster clean his room? When you show even the smallest amount of interest in what they’re doing, they will excel.
1. Listen to your child. No matter
how insignificant their little problem is, it is paramount to them.
2. Watch their facial expressions.
Often they will tell you what they want with facial expressions. There are great clues there.

Time is the best gift you can give your child. And with time comes a better understanding too. You may spend a few more minutes now interacting with your child, but it will pay off in the long run when your child becomes happy, healthy, successful, and independent.
How to Increase Your Childs Leadership Skills by: Kris Starliper
In the heat of recession - the world is a fast paced place, and change is coming thick and fast. If you want your child to be able weather storms and stand on their own two feet in this competitive and dynamic world - you need to ensure they have Leadership skills. Looking back at when we were children, it’s easy to remember who were the ‘leaders’ and who were the ‘followers’ in school. Its safe to say that only a tiny percentage led, and the rest gladly followed. These ‘leaders’ may have had flocks of sheep behind them, but they were not any happier than the average schoolchild, and nor did they achieve any greater success. What’s important to realize is that your child does not have to be the class clown, the trendsetter or the ‘it’ girl to demonstrate leadership. Getting ahead in life requires true leadership skills that you will help your child to discover. Here are some tips on getting you started on that path. 1. Assess what your child thinks of their leadership potential. Do they feel like a shy wallflower whom nobody
ever listens to? Or do they feel confident and would be up for anything? The responses to your questions will help guide you in creating an action plan as to how you can start building your Childs ability to lead. Confidence is a great trait, but not necessary of all leaders. I have known a successful entrepreneur who still sound positively petrified when talking to clients. It actually helps them, because their client sees him as an open and honest book as a result of his nervousness.
where your child thinks they are, is all you need to be doing to help your child thrive as a leader as they progress through their teen years and
2. Take time to applaud and praise your child for showing leadership qualities. Examples of this could be: - Asking about how their relatives are doing - Trying to delegate tasks that they actually enjoy doing, in order to be able to be ‘boss’. - Giving praise and constructive criticism to others - Being positive and upbeat about their own troubles. 3. And that’s really all that’s required. The right praise for the right behaviors, once you know

into adulthood. You don’t want to be ‘too’ hands on when it comes to character building, because if a child thinks you’re trying to mould or shape them - they will instinctively start behaving in the opposite manner simply to be able to feel independent.
