Family Day falls on 20th Feb 2023 this year. It's a day celebrated all over Canada as an observance on the 3rd Monday of February every year. Keep in mind the values associated with family day all over Canada, as it's a country that truly values family values and bindings while creating emotions and family trust. As they say, the 'Family comes first,' the family values are deeply attached to true values of trust, emotions, good gestures & love for family above all. The day is not technically a national or federally-mandated holiday. However, most Canadians live in areas where the day holds significance & is celebrated as a provincial-level statutory holiday. These Provinces include British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, New Brunswick, & Saskatchewan as 'Family Day.' However, in other provinces, i.e. in Manitoba as 'Louis Reil Day,' in Nova Scotia as Heritage Day and PEI or Prince Edward Island, it is celebrated as 'Islander Day.' The theme is giving the due share of importance to the family values associated with gestures of love & affection for the family obviously, as a family is a deep attachment for most Canadians. As they love their family wherever they go. While working in the offices' people love to keep admirable photographs of their family on desks so that they keep looking at them every now & then. They love to admire moments shared with family, known prestigiously as family moments. For most people, family always comes first.

On family day, especially in bigger Provinces like Ontario & B.C., people do family get-togethers to appreciate the day & mark its importance for the people of Canada. A day dedicated to family affection above all.

A Brief History of a Unique DayFeb 20th, 2023:

It truly is a unique significance in history that associates and binds Canadian families together for mutual goals of affection. A family day in Canada is an indicator or a litmus to the level of trust that binds a family together to celebrate togetherness. It's a day that was first celebrated & observed in the Province of Alberta. Thus, a key reason why Alberta province is the most associated with family values & values of love & affection. It was observed as 'Family Day' in 1990, i.e. 32 years from today. Thus, after a few years, i.e. not many

Saskatchewan & Ontario followed suit. Thus, in 2012, the province of British Columbia followed their footsteps. They followed the footsteps of the above provinces and changed the date from the 2nd Monday of Feb to the 3rd Monday of Feb as the day of celebration.

Effectively, and giving the day more national pride, the province of New Brunswick announced its holiday in 2018. The provinces Manitoba, PEI & Nova Scotia joined the party in the years 2007, 2009 & 2013.

There are no strings attached, which means that no traditions that are associated with the Family day. That is, like many other national days that are declared holidays. These are New Year's Day, Christmas Day and Canada Day, as an example. However, many Canadians literally use this day to stay actively close with their families. They like spending nights eating out & spending dining moments. Also, family parties and get-to-gathers. Furthermore, exploring the Canadian outdoors, i.e. rivers, streams, waterfalls, & forests. Apart from these, the road trips and spending great time on the roads while making it a time to have a blast.

The celebrants find different ways to overcome the cold weather and have a warm & a relaxing family day.

How to Be Close To Your Family on the Day?

It's a day on which you need to be close, closer or indeed closest to your family. You need to show them or let them know that how much you love them. Give thanksgiving to the poor & needy while celebrating the day as your family's most admirable moments might catch an eye.

A family feast at your home or outside or even a barbeque in your backyard might suit you & your family for more family time. Start planning a family vacation within Canada desirably or outside if you feel so. A family vacation always is the best way to ease the ups & the downs between the family members. It's a day that will make you talk to yourself about how much you owe to your family in the form of love. Obviously, as a family, time is always the best time that you might spend with your loved ones.
