Getting to College

Middlesbrough College has a fantastic travel package for all full time students. Travelling to and from College is easy as we have teamed up the area’s biggest bus and train operators to offer students FREE* bus travel 7 days a week and reimbursed weekday train travel.

Whether you live 15 or 50 minutes away, there are a number of bus and train routes available to make the journey that bit easier.

FREE* train travel 16 – 17 Saver Card

Your son/daughter may find that rail is the perfect way of getting to Middlesbrough College each day. To take advantage of free train travel when they start College in September, they will need to purchase a 16-17 Saver Card at £30 per year which will save 50% off your child’s train fare. Middlesbrough College will then reimburse the remaining 50% of their train fare when travelling from one of the named stations below.

Stations include: Allens West, Darlington, Bank Top, Darlington North Road, Dinsdale, Eaglescliffe, Hartlepool, Northallerton, Seaham, Seaton Carew, Thirsk and Yarm. With the 16-17 Saver Card your child can also travel across the National Rail network (except ScotRail and the Caledonian Sleeper) on weekends and Middlesbrough College holidays for shopping trips or days out.

Visit www.16-17saver.co.uk to apply for a Saver Card today.

*All students must purchase a 16-17 saver card to use the train travel scheme.

*Please note, there is a £5 administration fee if your child travels by bus for their travel sticker and this is payable termly.
