ENTRY FEE Entry Fee is $8.00 for the first event and $6.00 for each event thereafter.
1. All athletes must be 50 years of age or over to participate. Age is calculated as of the beginning date of the event. Events are open to all persons; there is no residency requirement. Some events may have additional fees as specified on the event description.

2. To be eligible to compete, participants must complete a registration form. Registration is invalid if form is NOT SIGNED. For events requiring a partner, both partners must complete registration forms. Participants are strongly encouraged to REGISTER EARLY to ensure your participation in the event of your choice.
REGISTRATION Registration is no longer accepted at the McAllen Parks and Recreation Administration Office (1000 S. Ware Rd, across from the McAllen Convention Center). Please register 3. Fee is $8.00 for the first event and $6.00 for each at Lark, Las Palmas or Palm View Community event thereafter. No refunds for cancellations will Centers during regular business hours. T-shirts will be available at time of registration or onbe issued. All sales are final. T-shirts and awards site each event.

Each event must have at least three participants in order to have an official 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awarded. An event having less than three participants is subject to being dropped from competition or combined with another age group. 6. Game time is forfeit time for all events. ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING THE RULES FROM THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT FOR THE EVENTS THEY ARE ENTERING.
Medals will be awarded at the end of each competition, when applicable. Results for some events will require extra time to tabulate in order to provide accuracy in scoring. We kindly ask for your patience.
AWARDS CEREMONY The format for the awards ceremony will differ from previous years. At the awards ceremony, the overall male and female Olympian in addition to the Overall Park winner will be recognized. Event winners will not be recognized individually, but will be recognized in their perspective groups (Gold, Silver & Bronze). PICKLEBALL DOUBLES (Men, Women or Mixed) A racquet sport combining elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. The sport is played on a court with the same dimensions as a doubles badminton court. The net is similar to a tennis net, but is mounted two inches lower. The game is played with a hard paddle and a polymer wiffle ball. Age divisions may apply based on enrollment. PARK VS. PARK COMPETITION Each RV Park will compete for a unique Park vs. Park Award. Points are awarded for placing in individual events. In team events, 80% of players must be from the same park to receive points. SADIE HAWKINS DAY The Rio Grande Valley Vipers championship National Basketball League Development team, will host a special practice for participants of the Golden Age Olympics. Get up close and personal with the Vipers with an autograph session and enjoy a performance from the Snake Charmers, the Vipers dance team. The first 300 participants will enjoy FREE food courtesy of Texadelphia.
