Cool Things You Should Take Camping It would be pointless to write an article talking about how you need a tent and sleeping bag when you go camping. If you didn’t know that, you should probably reconsider your camping trip. Anyway, for the rest of you, here are some cool, handy camping-hacks to take on camping trips with you!

Fire When it comes to fire, there are so many great, simple supplies to can bring to help you out with your fires. Think about these:    

Cotton pads dipped in wax are excellent, portable fire starters Burning Doritos works as excellent kindling if you can’t find any other source Need a coal fire? Put match light charcoal in all-cardboard egg cartons and set the whole thing on fire. It’s easy to carry around and a hassle-free way to start a good coal fire. Fire crystals are a fun way to color up your fire. Throw in a few crystals and enjoy a rainbow of flames!

Roasting If you don’t roast anything over a fire, you can’t call what you are doing camping. Sorry. Here are some delicious and inventive campfire treats!     

Classic s’mores: Gram Crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows. You can also smush marshmallows in cookies, Oreos, or other “crusts.” Banana Boats: Banana, chocolate chips, mini marshmallows. Slit the banana the long way and fill it with sweets. Wrap in tin foil, roast, and enjoy! Roasted starbursts: Simple. Skewer a starburst and when it gets bubbly, consume. Delish! Campfire cones. Fill a sugar cone with mini marshmallows, bananas, chocolate chips, chopped up strawberries (and whatever else you’d like), wrap it all up in tin foil and roast. Heaven! Campfire crescent rolls: Carve off the gunk on a wishbone shaped branch and wrap the dough around the V. Fill it with Nutella or other delicious sweet things and roast it over the fire. Yummy!

Hygiene When it comes to keeping clean while camping, things can get tricky. Here are some awesome, little, portable hacks to help you stay relatively clean:


 

Single use soap: Grab a stick of soap, and shave off leaves with a vegetable peeler! Easy breezy. Single use pastes: Cut up a big straw and melt one side together with a lighter. Fill in the pouch with toothpaste, Neosporin, or other needed pastes or liquids, then seal the other end for handy, little pouches! Water dispenser: Use an empty liquid laundry detergent dispenser as a makeshift hand washing station. Washing machine: Plunger plus bucket equals washing machine. Cool. Toilet paper holder: Slit the side of an empty coffee can (up and down), stick in a roll of TP and pull the end through the slit for a nice, sanitary way to keep your TP safe.

Light   

Solar Flashlight Radio: Super cool invention to ensure a reliable source of light and information/music. Strap a head lamp (light facing in) on a water jug for a super effective lantern. Mini-emergency lantern: Roll cardboard cinnamon roll style in an Altoid case and pour on some wax.
