Finding Inspiration for Your Wedding Colors Colors are an important part of any Las Vegas wedding. The bride will tend to pick out two or three colors that will represent the theme of the event. For example, many spring or summer weddings tend to be lighter colors: pastels and such to represent the freeing feeling of the longer, warmer days. Conversely, the winter months take on a stronger, bolder color scheme to stick out in the cold, dark of the shorter days. Even with simple distinctions like the time of year though, the color choosing process can still be difficult. There are an enormous number of combinations that can be hard to choose from. Luckily for you, there are a number of “cheating” ways that can help you make the hard decision. The word cheating, in this context, refers to drawing inspiration from external elements to help you make your decision. There are a number of outside influences for your wedding you could use to help determine the colors you want for your Las Vegas wedding. The following are three of the easiest to examine for guidance.
Wedding Flowers First, look to your flowers for inspiration. What flowers will be in your bouquet? Some types of flowers only come in certain colors. Hence, if you have a flower you’re dead set on, you can limit your options to what’s available. If you’re dead set on yellow pansies, then use yellow in your color scheme. With yellow as a starting point, you can choose a complement from the other side of the color wheel as the second color (blue/purple/turquoise). Once you have one color down, the others tend to come a lot easier, because only a few colors will look dazzling with your choice. If you’re struggling with a choice of flower, look to what beautiful flowers are in bloom in the month you’ll be getting married. You increase your chances that they’ll show up colorful and beautiful the day of the wedding if they are in bloom and in stock. From there, you can choose a color you like. When in doubt, look first to your flowers.
Las Vegas Wedding Venue Second, check out the venue for your Las Vegas wedding. What colors does the setting already have in play?
Are you setting it on a luscious green lawn and red rock pathways? If so, then you can create complementary, muted blues and yellows to mix it up a bit. The setting you choose for your Las Vegas wedding could prove a wealth of inspiration for your creative mind. Visit your venue early in the planning stages to capture the full vision of your big day; it will influence all of your plans. Third, carry on a tradition. Ask your mother what she did for her wedding. Perhaps your color schemes can be in honor of your mom. She would love it, and just as long as it’s okay with you, it could bring you two closer, especially since the bond of using the mother’s dress has faded as of late. So look at other aspects of the wedding for inspiration for your colors. You’ll find it much easier to choose in these circumstances. Photo credit: BeverlyLR, data9090
