While news coverage by newspapers in these modern times is a challenge, we at the Mountain View Telegraph face other obstacles not faced by many newspapers. With our news reporting staff of a reporter and an editor who also reports, the Telegraph is in the unique position of covering 1,600 square miles in central New Mexico that includes six municipalities, five school districts, three counties, eight local law enforcement agencies and eight courts. It’s obvious with such an extensive coverage area and limited resources that some things will slip through the cracks. However, the Telegraph does an effective job at finding the common ground these separate communities of interest hold. I think you’ll find looking through these entries that the Telegraph does an admirable job covering this area with stories that are not only relevant, but entertaining as well.
