Like you, I hope the hot and humid summer days will start giving way to cooler weather especially with the fall golf season coming up in addition to football…fun time of year! The golf course is in great condition as we start September with the greens doing very well despite over 40 consecutive days from late June into early August of above average temperatures and high levels of humidity. The new and improved cart path surfaces turned out great. We greatly appreciate your patience and support this summer with only having 9 holes available most of July.

As a staff, we are looking forward to a fun September and October as we have several member tournaments on the calendar including our fall Couples' event that was a big hit this spring. In addition, we will have a few fitting days in September and hopefully you will be able to take advantage of these days to improve your game. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to be fitted for the new Titleist driver in August and was able to gain 5 more yards. Not bad for an old guy with no talent, so can only imagine how much distance many of you will be able to gain.

HONORABLE MENTIONS SHOTS OF EXCELLENCE

Congratulations to Preston Hage on his tournament win at the U.S. Kids World Teen Championship! He shot an impressive 10 under par for the 3 day event and won on the 9th hole of a sudden death playoff. RCC member Davis Adams was on the bag for the event supporting him every shot of the way. Congratulations to Drew Turner on his Hole in One on Hole #6! His club of choice from the Burgundy Tee was a knock down driver into the strong breeze from 234 yards.

LADIES' MEMBER/GUEST

The 2022 RCC Ladies’ Member/Guest was indeed one for the record books with 64 ladies participating. Congratulations to all of our flight winners, and to every Member that invited a guest to enjoy our Donald Ross Design. As always, thank you to Billy Cole and his staff for presenting the course with such fantastic playing conditions! Thank you also to Bonnie Miller, Chef John Crawford, and the entire food and beverage staff for preparing and serving great meals and planning all of the wonderful events.
