WELCOME Comic Con Okinawa is the island’s premier comic book convention hosted annually by MCCS Okinawa. Open to all military personnel, their families and Japanese citizens, everyone is invited to join in on this epic celebration of all things comics, cosplay, sci-fi, fantasy, manga and gaming. Since its first appearance in 2011 as a small promotional event held in the Camp Foster Library, Comic Con Okinawa has rapidly grown to capture the essence of some of the much larger conventions that are held throughout the U.S. and Japan each year. In 2018, Comic Con Okinawa attracted over 13,000 attendees and over 25 sponsors.
コミコン沖縄は、MCCS沖縄主催で開催される沖縄一盛り上がりを見せるコミックブックコンベンション。軍属やその 家族、 日本の方々に、 コミック、 コスプレ、サイファイ、 ファンタジー、漫画やゲームを楽しんでいただくイベントです。 コミコン沖縄は2011年にキャンプ・フォスターの図書館で小さなプロモーションイベントとして開催されたのが始
まり。それから徐々にアメリカや日本で開催されている大規模なイベントの要素を取り入れながら発展し、2018年に は13,000人もの観客を動員し25以上のスポンサーに協賛いただきました。

WHO’S AT THE CON? OLIVIA HACK（オリビア・ハック） Actress Olivia Hack got her break playing adorable character Cindy in “The Brady Bunch Movie” and “A Very Brady Sequel.” She made her film debut in “Star Trek: Generations,” playing the daughter of Patrick Stewart’s Captain Picard. A native of Los Angeles, she started out in commercials at the age of four. These days, she is best known for providing the voice of iconic characters like Rhonda Wellington Lloyd in Nickelodeon’s classic, “Hey Arnold!,” “Bratz” as Chloe, and Nickelodeon’s hugely successful “Avatar: The Last Airbender” as Ty Lee, young Jedi Katooni in “The Clone Wars,” as well as numerous other video games, animation, and television shows, such as “Gilmore Girls.” When she isn’t working, you can find her anywhere from the shores of Easter Island to the skyscrapers of Hong Kong, embracing her passion for travel and exploration.
女優のオリビア・ハックは、 「ゆかいなフレディー家/我が家がイチバン」 と 「ゆかいなフレディー家/トラブルinハワイ」 で愛らしいキャラクターシンディーを演じ人気を集めた。 「スタートレック：ジェネレーションズ」 で映画デビューを果た し、パトリック・スチュワート演じるキャプテン・ピカードの娘役を演じた。4歳からコマーシャルに出演。最近では、ニ コロデオンの由緒ある作品「ヘイ・アーノルド！」のロンダ・ウェリントン・ロイド役、 「ブラッツ」のクロエ役、 「アバター伝 説の少年アン」のタイ・リー、 「クローン・ウォーズ」のジェダイ・カトゥーニーの幼少役、その多数々のゲームやアニメー ションや「ギルモアガールズ」などのテレビ番組で活躍している。旅行が好きで休暇には、イースター島の海岸、香港 のスカイスクレーパーなど様々な土地を旅している。
DEREK PRINCE （デレク・プリンス） Derek Stephen Prince has been in the voiceover industry for 22 years working on shows such as the “Power Rangers” series, “Digimon,” “Love, Hina” (playing Keitaro), “Bleach,” “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures: Stardust Crusaders,” Lin in “Cowboy Bebop” (which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year) and many more. His work on video games include the Kingdom Hearts series (as Vexen), Odin Sphere (as Oswald), Operation Darkness (as both Adolf Hitler and Jack the Ripper), and Detective Holden in Blade Runner Revelations just to name a few. デレク・プリンスは声優として22年もの経歴を持ち、出演作品には「パワーレンジャー」 シリーズ、 「デジモン」 、 「ラブひな

CHERAMI LEIGH（シェラミ－・リ－） Cherami Leigh has been acting for over 20 years and has appeared on “Friday Night Lights,” “Shameless,” “Chase,” “Bones,” “NCIS: LA” and more. She has also appeared on “Fast Food Nation,” “The Mist,” “The Hottest State” and “Not Cool.” Leigh worked on the Emmy Award winning “Temple Grandin,” and played the young LeAnn Rimes in “Holiday in Your Heart.” Recently, Leigh starred in the faith based film “Beyond the Farthest Star.” She has worked on over 50 video games and over 150 animated projects including “Doc McStuffins,” “La La Loopsy Girls,” “Kings Quest,” “Borderlands 2,” and various English-dubbed anime series including “Sword Art Online,” “Sailor Moon,” and “Fairy Tail” just to name a few. シェラミー・リーは20年以上にわたり演技を続けており、 「プライド栄光への絆」、 「シェイムレス俺たちに恥はない」、 「 追跡」、 「ボーンズ-骨は語る-」、 「 NCIS:LA 〜極秘潜入捜査班」など多数出演。 また、 「ファーストフード・ネイション」、 「 霧」、 「 痛いほどきみが好きなのに」、 「Not Cool」にも出演。エミー賞を受賞した「テンプル・グランディン～自閉症とと もに」にも出演し、 「Holiday in Your Heart」 では若きリアン・ライムスを演じた。最近では「Beyond the Farthest Star」 に出演し脚光を浴びる。声優としても50を超えるゲームと、 「ドックはおもちゃドクター」、 「ララループシーガールズ」 、 「Kings Quest」、 「ボーダーランズ２」、 「ソードアート・オンライン」、 「美少女戦士セーラームーン」、 「フェアリーテイ ル」を含む150もの様々な英語の吹き替え版アニメで活躍。
QUINTON FLYNN （クイントン・フリン） Quinton Flynn is an award-winning voice actor that has played animated characters such as Jonny Quest, Speed Racer, The Human Torch, Elmer Fudd, Timon and Snowbell—just to name a few. His animated television appearances include “Robot Chicken,” “The Last Airbender,” “Animaniacs,” “Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated” and “The Avengers.” In anime, he has voiced Kon in “Bleach,” Iruka-Sensei and Deidara in “Naruto,” Shingo Shouji in “Initial D” and many more. His best known roles in video games include providing the English voices of Raiden (Metal Gear Series), Axel (Kingdom Hearts Series), Kolyat Krios (Mass Effect), Henry (No More Heroes), Arlon & Rexus Ragespear (Guild Wars 2) and Reno in (Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children) the motion picture. クイントン・フリンは、声優部門で2度の優勝を 飾っている。 アニメキャラクターでは、科学少年J.Q、

MEGAN HOLLINGSHEAD （メーガン・ホリングスヘッド） After performing in a collection of off-Broadway shows, Megan Hollingshead was asked, “Do you do voiceovers?” Answering “yes,” led the way to her launching her voiceover career in the role of “Pokémon’s” Nurse Joy. Hollingshead has since become known as the voice of Mai Valentine in “Yu-Gi-Oh!,” Shizune in “Naruto,” Rangiku in “Bleach,” and in the game world, currently voices Glenna in Guild Wars 2. MICHAEL GOLDEN（マイケル・ゴ－ルデン） Influencing generations of comic fans and professionals, Michael Golden is responsible for creating some of the most licensed and enduring material in the industry. Co-Creator of Rogue, Bucky O’Hare, Micronauts and “The ‘Nam,” among others, Golden is known as one of THE artists on such characters as Batman, Doctor Strange, G.I. Joe and the Punisher. Golden’s recent covers can be seen on everything from Spawn to the The Walking Dead, to World Wrestling work. Recent covers include works on The Walking Dead, Deadpool, and Daredevil, just to name a few. In short, no history of comics is complete without touching on the influence that this legendary artist has had on the industry. Recent books on the colorful life and vibrant art of Golden include Michael Golden: Alchemy, Modern Masters: Michael Golden, Excess: The Art of Michael Golden and Michael Golden: Dangerous Curves. In addition, having served as both Senior Art Director at Marvel Comics and Senior Editor at DC Comics, Golden’s lectures and classes in storytelling are sought after worldwide, with recent venues including Spain, France, Russia, Norway, Brazil, Chile and China. RENEE WITTERSTAETTER （レニ－・ウィッタ―ステッタ－） Writer, editor, colorist and publisher Renee Witterstaetter has acted as editor on publications including Thanos Quest, Guardians of the Galaxy, Hercules, Xena, X-Files, Conan, She-Hulk, The Marvel Holiday Special, Impossible Man Summer Special, Jurassic Park, and many more. As a film professional, Witterstaetter has worked on such movies as “Red Dragon” and “Rush Hour 2,” while also behind the scenes, racking up credits on dozens of music videos and commercials for artists as diverse as Madonna, Seal and Usher. As a writer, her work includes Jackie Chan: Dying for Action, Nick Cardy: The Artist at War, Excess: The Art of Michael Golden, Nick Cardy: Wit-Lash, Art of the Barbarian, Michael Golden: Excess, The Art of Mark Texeira, and her children’s book Kerry and the Scary Things. In addition, Witterstaetter is also a producer of documentaries on various comic book creators and talents in other fields via her partnership with Amdale Media, and has spearheaded art shows and retrospectives in the United States, Spain, China, Russia and other venues worldwide. GURIHIRU（グリヒル） The artistic duo of Gurihiru started out as a web designer and receptionist at an art museum. Penciler/inker Chifuyu Sasaki and colorist Naoko Kawano were encouraged to contact American comic publishers after entering a manga competition which resulted in the team drawing covers and interiors for several comics such as Marvel’s Power Pack, The Fantastic Four, The Unbelievable Gwenpool, Squirrel Girl, Go Go Power Rangers from Boom! Studios as well as Dark Horse’s adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Gurihiru also did character designs for SEGA and Bandai Namco video games. Gurihiru’s work for Marvel has also been translated into plastic mini figurines, plush toys, pins and t-shirts featuring the Avengers, Thanos, Doctor Strange, Loki, Gwenpool, Spider-Man and many more. グリヒルは芸術的な作風が魅力のデュオで、元々はウェブデザイナーと美術館の受付をしていた。作画担当のササ キ・チフユとカラリストのカワノ・ナオコは漫画コンテストに応募した後、 アメリカのコミック出版社へのコンタクトを 勧められる。結果、 アーティストユニットとしてマーベルの「パワーパック」、 「ファンタスティック・フォー」、 「グウェンプ ール」、 「無敵のスクレイル・ガール」、Boom!スタジオの「Go Go パワーレンジャー」、 「アバター伝説の少年アン」など のカバーやインテリアページの制作を手掛けることになる。更に、セガやバンダイナムコのゲームキャラクターデザイ ンも手掛け、マーベル作品のアベンジャーズ、サノス、 ドクター・ストレンジ、ロキ、 グウェンプール、 スパイダーマンな どのミニフィギュア、ぬいぐるみ、ピンやTシャツにもなっている。
RODNEY RAMOS（ロド二－・ラモス） Artist Rodney Ramos has worked on just about every major character for Marvel Comics and DC Comics with a flourish that makes him a master at his craft. He began his storied journey in comics as a “Romita Raider” at Marvel Comics, learning his craft under the legendary John Romita, Sr. Regular work on titles such as Psi-Force, What The!?, Thundercats, Punisher War Journal, Amazing Spider-Man, and Iron Man followed, as well as work on Green Lantern, Batman, Wonder Woman, and much more. In addition to Marvel and DC, his works include masterful craftsmanship for clients ranging from Valiant, Malibu, Acclaim, Marvel UK, and Neal Adams Continuity Studios. PEACH MOMOKO (桃桃子 /ピーチモモコ) An illustrator from Japan, Peach MoMoKo is published widely with Marvel, Upperdeck and Heavy Metal. She has a wide range of artistic styles, from superhero material to ultra-detailed horror-based work.
Mainly using watercolor and inks as her main mediums, she has recently created and designed 11 Marvel Flair Cards for Upperdeck and Marvel and produced variant covers for X-Men: Age of Apocalypse and Marvel Rising. 日本のイラストレ―タ―。マーベル、 アッパーデック、ヘビーメタルなど幅広く掲載されている。 スーパーヒーローの素 材から詳細なホラーベースの作品まで、幅広い芸術的スタイルを持っている。主に水彩絵の具とインクを媒体として 使用。 アッパーデックとマーベルのための11種のマーベルフレアカードをデザイン制作し、 「X-Men:黙示録/アポカリ プス」 と 「マーベルライジング」のヴァリアントカバーを制作。
YUI KANAN（雅南 ユイ） A study in versatility, Yui Kanan is an EDM DJ and CEO of the professional cosplay company, ONIGIRI PLUS Inc. After receiving 3rd place in the world at WCS 2008 for a cosplay performance, she sharpened her cosplay skills and knowledge working in the entertainment industry to create the very first professional cosplay company in Japan. She works closely with clients from animation, game, manga, local official and NPOs to maintain a professional work environment for cosplayers while making cosplay and cosplayers more accepted by Japanese society. She was an image cosplayer for the Tokyo Comic Con in 2016 and 2017 and managed the cosplay section at the events, including setting up stage events sponsored by Air Asia, Sony Entertainment and Disney. Recently, after her appointment as a special teacher at Digital Hollywood University, Kanan has been traveling to many high schools and universities to share her knowledge and experience while also studying intellectual property law and other ideologies overseas. EDM DJ、 コスプレユニット 「YUMINO+」のリ－ダ—、 プロのコスプレ会社「株式会社ONIGIRI PLUS」の代表取締役と多岐 に活躍。WCS 2008でコスプレパフォーマンスで３位を獲得後、 エンターテイメント産業界で活動しコスプレの知識と技 術を更に向上させ広めるため日本初のプロのコスプレ会社を設立。 プロフェッショナルなコスプレ業界でアニメーショ ン、 ゲーム、漫画、地元公的機関、NPOなどのクライエントと密に働き携わりながらコスプレの魅力を日本国内に浸透さ せる。 2016年と2017年の東京コミコンでは、 イメージコスプレーヤーと なり、 エアアジア、 ソニーエンターテイメント、 ディズニーをスポンサーに コスプレセクションの運営とステージセッティングを行う。 最近では、 デジタルハリウッド大学の特別講師に任命された、海外で 知的財産法やその他のイデオロギーを勉強しながら、知識と 経験を基に多くの高校や大学で教えている。

COSPLAY CONTEST There’s a difference between wearing a costume and being a cosplayer. Anyone can don a Spider-Man suit at a party just because it’s a costume party. It’s expected of people to buy the likeness of the latest pop culture figure at the store before Halloween because that’s the cultural norm. But cosplay is more than that. It requires dedication to the craft—both in the costume and to the character.
コスプレはただの仮装ではありません。 仮装パーティに誰もがスパイダーマンのコスチュームを着ていくのは単に今年の流行だから とハロウィン用に人気キャラクター衣装を選ぶから。 しかし、 コスプレとは衣装とキャラクターの両方に敬意を払うアートなのです。 Show off your hard work and dedication to your craft at Comic Con Okinawa’s Cosplay Contest. Cosplayers of all ages are welcome. Each person will have two minutes to discuss their costume, and a panel of judges will choose winners in each of the categories. Contestants will be judged on costume accuracy, design, creativity, uniqueness and execution. コミコン沖縄のコスプレコンテストであなたの力作を披露ください。 一人当たり2分間、 衣装について語る時間が与えられ、 審査員に よりカテゴリーごとの優勝者が選ばれます。 衣装の正確さ、 デザイン、 創作力、 独創性が審査の対象となります。 Costumes should be original or heavily-modified versions of off-the-rack items. Please keep the costume appropriate for family audiences. Avoid overly gory or sexual costumes that aren’t appropriate for the family-friendly audience (your costume may be rejected if it’s inappropriate or unsafe). The contest is limited to 50 entries (group entries count as one) so register early. 衣装はオリジナル又は既製品に手を加え作り替えた物であること。 衣装は、 家族参加型イベントであるコミコン 沖縄の趣旨にあった物で、 小さなお客様の為に残酷性や露出は控えてください。 （イベントにそぐわない衣装や 安全性を欠く場合は出場をお断りいたします。 ） コンテストは最大50エントリー迄とし、 グループは 1グループ1エントリーとします。 数に達し次第受付を終了致しますのでお早めに受付ください。

Tokyo Comic Con will be providing the winner of the adult cosplay contest a round trip ticket to Tokyo, three-day pass to Tokyo Comic Con (taking place from November 22 to 24) and entry as a finalist in the Tokyo Comic Con’s Cosplay Championship on November 24.
