Virtual Newcomers’ Orientation Welcome Aboard (NOWA) Start your tour off right! Okinawa is a wonderful duty station and great place to live for the entire family. Learn about this beautiful island and all the opportunities you can take advantage of during your tour. All accompanied USMC and USN (all ranks), civilian employees, family members age 10 and up, unaccompanied USMC and USN (E-6 and above) are required to complete an online NOWA brief upon arrival to Okinawa. Boots to Business

The Small Business Administration (SBA) provides a live virtual workshop to deliver the Entrepreneurship Track-“Boots to Business” (B2B). This two day introductory course is available to Service Members and their spouses/adult family members. This workshop provides valuable assistance to those who are exploring self-employment opportunities. The course provides the key steps for evaluating business concepts and the foundational knowledge required for developing a business plan. Pre– Retirement Seminar

This workshop is an alternative option to the TRS for retiring Service Members. Active Duty Swim Instruction (ADSI)

The ADSI program helps active duty personnel develop, improve, and refine basic aquatic skills and swimming strokes. The skills covered will vary based upon student needs. Behavioral Health Substance Abuse Counseling Center The Substance Abuse Counseling Center provides screening, assessment, prevention, early intervention, and counseling services. Child and Youth Programs MCCS Child and Youth Programs (CYP) provide a safe, healthy and developmentally appropriate learning environment and recreation opportunities for your family. The Child Development Centers (CDC) provide fulltime care for children 6 weeks to 5 years old. School Age Care (SAC) provides before school, after school and full day care on no school days for children, kindergarten through age 12 years old. CDC and SAC programs also provide drop-in hourly care. The youth and teen centers are affiliated with the Boys and Girls Club of America and provide activities, field trips and other recreational opportunities to kids ages 10-12 years old at youth centers and 13-18 years old at teen centers.
