Although hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, Laura spent part of her childhood in Maryland and has resided in the DC Metro area since 1995, so she considers herself a "local." After practicing law for several years, Laura transitioned to a career in residential real estate in 2006. The cornerstone of her practice is a focus on providing her clients with exceptional customer care and attention to their needs and desires. In addition, her legal experience and negotiating expertise forms the bedrock upon which she has built her practice. Real estate is a collaborative experience and Laura enjoys close relationships with fellow real estate professionals, but most importantly, with her clients — often keeping them as friends long after their transactions have settled. The Effects of Overpricing

Buyers give the most serious consideration to properties priced at market value.

This graphic shows the percentage of buyers that will see your home based on whether your home is priced at fair market value, below market value or over market value. As you can see, if you price your home at fair market value, 95% of qualified buyers will see it. However, if you price it just 10% over market

value, only 30% of the qualified buyers will see it. That means that 70% of the buyers who are qualified in terms of criteria and price range will not see your home. Overpricing also affects selling time and sales price. The longer the property stays on the market, the lower the price will be when it finally sells.
