WETLAND CONSERVATION
Ducks Unlimited protects land through its land-holding subsidiary, Wetlands America Trust, and by working with willing landowners through several means, including acquisitions, conservation easements, and planned gifts.
Ducks Unlimited also maintains a Habitat Revolving Fund that is used for strategic acquisitions, as well as the purchasing of development rights within our Landscape Conservation Priority Areas. Occasionally, Ducks Unlimited will acquire land in key areas with the intent of securing long-term ownership, as well as addressing specific waterfowl conservation needs. More commonly, we acquire land to restore and enhance wetlands and other significant habitat, collaborating with a conservation partner as the permanent landowner.
