The minimum housing is usually characterized by a strong definition of spaces and an inability for the user to generate large variations or appropriations thereon. The project explores possibilities of flexibility in the minimum housing, introducing movement, tension and allowing different dynamics in the same space thus adapting to the inhabitants and their basic impulses to move, expand, control and appropriate.

Designing a refuge for the forest. The resulting design considered three aspects: The first is the definition of an intimate space. To which I concluded the following; Intimate space= The most inner or internal, which in terms of space means a walking route and finally an end, a place to discover. Secondly, given the characteristics of the place, was to define the project’s contact with the ground, How and how much my intervention has to modify the place? What kind of relationships my intervention will have with the forest? In turn, a third aspect considered important was that the designed space did not move away of sensations, emotions and visuals related to the place.

The site gives guidelines of how a piece of city should be and raised in advance relations that shape the architectural object, its grouping and arrangement. In the case of this project the guidelines are the following: - The urban regulations proposed the optimization of the land (density) and the broadening of the uses (mixed use). - The extension of the street 72 so as its commercial and office use. - The Simon Bolivar’s Metropolitan Park which supposed the developing of an edge piece. With these determinants the housing building is design, exploring the concepts of density, variety of uses and projecting the Simon Bolivar’s Park as a landscape potential. Density: The project assumed the density as an urban problem and gives priority to the collective within the project’s scheme. The collective is as important as the housing in this density proposal.
8
In this way there is not a negative impact on the area, but instead the area benefits from the new collective spaces. Mixed use: The Project includes a platform with: offices, commerce, housing, workshop-houses, commercial houses, and equipments. These uses share a large common area that involves all the activities, which is the area that breaks and also links the project. And area that finally is the reference for all modes of living and working proposed. A piece of edge: The Project is conceived as an edge piece, a piece that supposed a limit. In this case the limit is present because it is not possible to access the park from this point of the city. Thus the relationship with the park is only for visuals and contemplation. Hence the project has a park itself at different levels bringing, in a scenographic way, the Simon Bolivar’s Park to the project. There is a backdrop and actors that in this case are the pedestrians and the community.

Honda, Tolima, Colombia Program: Leisure Equipment

Honda,Tolima is a historic village in Colombia with a climate that can rise to 35 degrees at noon. It is known as the city of the bridges due to the rivers that surround it. The project site is located along the Guali’s River, tributary of the Magdalena’s River, which in advance, gives a public character to the site where the project is located, because the banks of the river are for the public use.
The cabaret program is proposed by the conditions of the town as a port and because it is place of travelers and traditional festivals. For its development, the activities carried out in a cabaret were analyzed such as the history of it, and his relation with the theater, the spectacle and the insinuation.

The cabaret is presented as a place near to the theater stage, but with the difference that there is more closeness between the audience and the stage that in a conventional theatrical event. This translates into a more open spatiality. However the most interesting thing of the cabaret is not
what happens inside but the perception that the event can have from the outside, how this intimate space insinuates to the city, how does it seduces. This opens up another question: Can a space such as a cabaret, a space for intimate use, have some sort of relationship with the city?
Finally, exploring the idea of the relationship between the private side and the public side, a project arises responding, in one hand, to generate a public space for the city (a shady space, a collective place) and on the other hand closing itself into its own privacy.
Hidden behind the public space, the cabaret’s life continues. Throughout its facades, apparently solid, occasionally it is possible to see, (depending on the angle at which you look), the music that comes out, and the lights that tell a bit of what happens inside.

For many cultures there are three basic stages of human existence: life the death and the divine. And there are elements or entities that connect and support these stages of mankind, called Axis Mundi. This proposal is intended to approach this concept by proposing three physical levels and a tower that bypasses them. As a way to recall the ancient people (Mayas an Aztecs) who lived in the land where this project is located, and with an acquaintance of the way they used time, cosmology and territory, this funerary complex proposal includes a tower that is both a communal tomb and a solar clock.

The western idea of cemetery is based on the idea of preserving the individual identity –and presence of the dead. Nevertheless, when someone dies, it is inevitable to forget him/her through time. Our proposal is intended to reactivate the rite of procession by proposing a series of steps in which the dead are moved through different spaces (the coffin, the graveyard, the ossuary, the tower) according to the stages of decomposition. Therefore, the tower, which is the final step, is intended to be everybody’s tomb, a place where no one can be individualized, a place where we don’t remember the dead but the death itself.

The proposal stems on the role of schools in towns that have flood problems, because these rather than schools in vulnerable communities, are also shelters, meeting centers and relief camps. Even without the flood event they host are local holidays, masses and political meetings. That is to say, regardless of the region and conditions they are set as community centralities.
2. Proposed relationship school-city Park
Thus the school is not seen as a quantitative problem (demand, areas, notes and quotas) but as an opportunity to set a better quality of life in the community, which invites to question how these educational buildings can influence their environment. In this search the idea of a school that extend is born, a school able to achieve a greater impact on the place and able to articulate the world of education with the outside world. Educational processes that are related to social contexts and that are associated with their whole community. Therefore if a school is a community issue, if it is a problem of everyone, the spatial response of it, must be associated with the public side. Designing the system under the guidelines described above, we define a multifaceted role for a school: A school that is more than one equipment, an equipment that is fully exploited. Therefore, the project proposes to generate a place that is not only a school, but also a place that have the conditions to host community meetings and shelters. This requires forgetting the traditional compact school in order to choose a disposal where the main character is the public space and buildings can behave independently. In the search for the public issue, the place is transformed into a park. The plazas, roads and sports areas developed, structured and organized the school parts and give meaning to their relationships. Finally, the proposal sets an open school, an urban and cultural centrality.

The Liquor’s Enterprise of Cundinamarca is located in the industrial zone of Bogotá, and has a production plant for 80 years. But the dynamics in the production of liquor have changed a lot over the last years, which has meant that the plant has had several expansions. These adaptation processes have modified the original industrial layout, thus the plant does not have a
clear production line, the processes carried out intersect between themselves, there is not a proper distribution of areas in relation to function, the architecture determines the industrial processes and the enterprise also presents problems in terms of environmental management of their facilities.

The urban regulations for licensing new interventions in the area and its strategic position, allowed us to rethink the enterprise’s infrastructure: A whole new industrial and architectural design. In this way we sought to enhance the physical infrastructure, helping to improve production capacity, to gain profits and earnings that actually are not obtained because of the
conditions of the buildings, and to route the new plant towards optimization and saving money and time in the processes, which in the end would mean a higher return on the investment project. The renovation’s project of the plant is designed as an integral project linking architecture, industrial processes, and environmental concern.

The area of Chapinero in Bogotá was born as a suburban area in 1810 and it transformed till becoming an important trading area outside the city. With the growth of the city, especially in the years 1945 and 1960, Chapinero becomes part of the big city and now it is an educational and cultural centrality.
The 3 Centers Transition zones
The Carrera 7th, the Carrera 13th and the Caracas Avenue are common pathways for the three most important centralities of the city: the historical Center, Chapinero, and the Financial Center. These three ways, parallel to the mountains, make up a large movement axis in the northsouth sense.

However, although the three centralities are connected with roads, there is no a spatial response corresponding to the notion of centrality. Thus it is proposed the intervention of this axis aiming to give a respond to the dynamics and crowds that are currently in the area. Due to its strategic location Chapinero has the potential to sustain
agglomerations if we renewed its form and we strengthen its relationships. The intervention of this axis could give to the east of the city a backbone, in terms of mobility, equipments and public space. Nowadays new transport systems for the area are being studied, which added to the proposed intervention, will give to Chapinero a true metropolitan character.

First floor plan - Public space The approach takes into account the educational character and heritage of the place, which was detected after performing different historical analyzes. As well, the approach takes in account the natural structure of the site and what was left of it: rivers, natural parks and hills. The project finally identifies the elements that have been structuring and that remained throughout the
years in order to understand the relationships and dynamics of place, the memory, the geography and identity. The proposal has two directions, one northsouth, which seeks to respond to a metropolitan character, the city and another east-west, that seeks the natural connection between the hills and the green areas of the city by the means of the river and public space recovery.

Renovation of Engativá Bogotá, Colombia
The strong growth that Bogota had in 1960, led to an irregular occupation of the territory and to the emergence of dissociated spaces that break the urban layout and cut the continuity of the city. A city without continuity contributes to sociospatial segregation, which is a phenomenon characteristic of Latin American cities. These dissociated spaces function as barriers within the city and range from large industrial islands, large parking areas, vacant lots, up to rivers and marshes in strong disrepair. The project seeks to use those areas that fragment the city, take advantage of its location, its potential, to formulate interventions that aim to social cohesion and environmental reevaluation.
It is proposed the Intervention of Jaboque’s marsh (currently focus of crime and bad odors) to return a meeting point and a joint between two areas of Bogota, such as Fontibón and Engativá.

In the case of Southern Italy, the main routes (rail and highways) are concentrated on the coasts as well as the majority of the population, the urban life and many of the activities that lead the region. An example, the southern region of Calabria, where it is possible to identify a greater concentration of activities in the coasts that are at the sea level: Cosenza, Castroliero, Mendizzio, Lamezia Terme, Catanzaro and Crotone. Cities that have grown prosperous not only due to their relationships with the coast, but because of their location near the roads that link the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Ionian Sea. Located in the same region you may find the Gioia Tauro area, which has a similar situation in regards to the concentration of activity along the coast, but with one difference, that is not having relevant connections with the cities on the opposite coast, cities of the Ionian Sea. Even though this area counts with the Eranova’s Port, which is a great urban potential in the area, it is isolated from the rail and road transport and the activities that make up the region.

Based on this, the proposal concentrates in linking the port to the dynamics of the region, and in turn, feeding the dynamics of the region with the activity of the port. Searching not only the encouragement of the longitudinal direction (existing), but also of the transversal direction, the cross-linking of the two seas. From this perspective, the vision of the urban centers is not restricted to Gioia Tauro, San Ferdinando and Rosarno, it also involves all the cities that are in the plain such as Taurianova, Cittanova, Rizziconi, etc, unto the opposite coast. To reconnect and link the port with the region, it is intended to transform it as part of the daily life of the area, becoming an urban attractor and a place of regional convergence.

LETICIA
Thinking about fluvial reactivation in Colombia would imply a new thinking about port cities and therefore new processes for their readecuation. Processes that will change not only their rol but their importance in the territorial planning and the territorial dimension. The fact of figuring out about the territorial dimension they would assume, requires a qualitative and not only quantitative approximation to the problem linked to the Magdalena River, in such a way that it deepens in its characteristics, and its innate and own contexts.

The project assumes different guidelines to lead the urban and regional Port projects. In between them, the most relevant is to understand the basin of the river as a whole and understand a territorial dimension based on three key perspectives: The Magdalena River as a tradition linked to space, the Magdalena River as a territory in constant movement and the Magdalena River as a national structure that enables de architectural thinking and proposals for the territory. In this process, the questions are focused in the central region of the country, emphasizing on the conurbation of Puerto Salgar - La Dorada, which is to be consider as the point of start for navigation.

This perspective does not adopt a linear historical understanding, on the contrary it applies a simultaneous view of history. In which the process is not only about identifying and differentiating different facts, but also juxtaposing, in order to look for the mysteries and the realities that are interrelated. As a result, it is possible to get to an understanding of the territory, how it has been used, and its possibilities.

The project is based on a historical and geographical understanding focus in: how the indigenous territory was and the relation with the Magdalena River, how did conquerors understood it, how have industrial human modify it and how it is nowadays. This process allowed to identify various territories in one same place (the basin) as well as the different geographic possibilities within one space.

2.1 Variation of activities in Public space
In general riverside cities are characterized by a very high level of movement due to their territorial and regional conditions, including floods, fishing seasons, harvest periods, and tourist seasons. These different moments along with the navigation make to these territories excellent places for exchange. In this sense, one of the objectives of the project is to offer and architectural and urban proposal able to get along with the changing categories that characterize this place.
The process of understanding the dynamics of the Magdalena Basin, is focused on the urban areas called la Dorada and Puerto Salgar. The conurbation is chosen because it is placed right on top on the road network that connects great country’s consumption centers and export areas, as well as train and river transport networks in an area of less than 200 kilometers. In addition, this is the point of start of navigation in the center of the country, and this is why it is an strategic place, that not only is related with local problems but with reagional and national issues. In this way, the research take these urban centers in account, to establish the implications of navigation and massive transport in them, and explore the possiblities of and architecture link to the territory and national issues.
Places of national interest related to the Basin: 10 Agricultural floodplains of Tolima 1 Region led by Puerto Salgar 2 Region led by La Dorada 11 Region led by Flandes-Girardot 3 Metropolitan and agricultural region of Medellin 12 Bogota and its Savanna 4 Productive areas of Santa Fe de Antioquia 13 Barrancabermeja 5 Lower Productive areas of Antioquia 14 Metropolitan/ agricultural region of B/manga 6 Lower Productive areas of Quindio 15 Metropolitan/ agricultural region of Cucuta 7 Agricultural region of Buga 16 Cartagena 8 Passage Cali- Buenaventura 17 Barranquilla 9 Agricultural area of Manizales, Pereira, Armenia
THE CIRCUIT IDEA This proposal outlines a kind of circuit that connects and encompasses the most important relations and structures from the center region. A circuit that can be understood as a way to distribute and to re-distribute regional asset and that is also an intermodal freight port. The circuit replace de lap non navigable of the river and links relevant areas of the center of the country.

On the other hand, the right side of the river does not have such developed areas because of the mountains that are in touch with the river. In relation to the urban areas, an identification of the centers of La Dorada and Puerto Salgar, and its urban attractions should be done. The objective of this is to find out what does La Dorada and Puerto Salgar can exchange inbetween them. The exchange of dynamics is thus proposed between the two sides of the river, making emphasis on the intersection of this operation. The result of this urban project is a proposal that makes of the river the hub for integration of various activities of great importance for the region, such as: Transport Terminals, Intermodal Freight Port, Agricultural and Industrial Research Centers, Technical and Higher Education Centers, Train Stations, Equipment Supply Centers, and New Cultural and Industrial Areas.

As a result of this, the he main urban proposal is to articulate the two sides of the river, making emphasis on the previous existing relations, allowing the project not to be imposed on the territory neither the region. The bridge is the result of materializing the relations and dynamics found in the region. A

In this sense, the question to be solved with the bridge is not only about what is going to be connected but also how to connect it. In the project the connection is a relevant issue of design thus it is not only a common bridge, it is a bridge that host posibilities, relationships, dynamics, centralities, meeting points, in other words: an Inhabited Bridge
