Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues & Friends, Once again we host an International Conference of global experts in the field of diabetic foot care during the 3rd International Diabetic Foot Conference (IDFC) November 9th and 10th, 2012 in Dubai. This 3rd edition of the conference aims to address the growing global healthcare challenge posed by diabetes-related limb amputations in an evidence-informed, patient –focused, interdisciplinary forum. At this year’s 2-day conference it will be possible to interact and learn from some of the world’s leaders specializing in prevention, assessment & treatment of diabetic foot ulcers. This includes the latest in vascular intervention as well as the role of technology on healing and preventing diabetic foot ulcers. You will also be able to network with experts from across the Middle East, Europe and the USA. There have been many recent advances in wound healing specifically at the level of the individual cells. New technologies and therapeutic modalities are promising and will soon be available in routine clinical practice. This forum will be a combination of lectures, discussions as well as symposiums and interactive workshops. The Key note speaker of this year’s conference is Dr. David Armstrong, DPM, MD, PhD / Professor of Surgery and Director, Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA) at University of Arizona. This is promising time to create awareness and expand our horizons through translational medicine. We look forward to share it all with you!

TheraHoney™

Sterile Wound Dressings

The sweet solution for wound care 100% medical grade honey helps promote debridement, moist healing environment, reduced wound odor TheraHoney products contain 100% medical-grade Manuka honey, which is derived from the pollen and nectar of the Leptospermum scoparium plant in New Zealand. The honey comb is used only one time, and once harvested, the honey is carefully filtered, irradiated and tested in a laboratory for maximum efficacy. The high sugar levels (87%) in TheraHoney result in osmotic pressure that helps promote autolytic debridement of necrotic tissue, lowers the pH of the wound, provides a moist wound healing environment and rapidly reduces wound odor.
