I T ’ S B E E N A H E L L O F A Y E A R for the three guys who make up Backwords – Brian Russ, Ryan Belski and John Sheldon. From supporting our new President by performing at the Ba-ROCK Brooklyn Fundraiser, doing a live improvisational score to an old silent film, Lorna Doone, touring the East Coast in a crowded van for a good chunk of their summer, to finding time to record their second album, The Buffalo Still Roam. Backwords have been on their hustle, and they managed to do all that while somehow continuing to perform around their hometown of Brooklyn.

CORTEZ! CORTEZ!! JUST NEEDS A PLACE TO PLAY. The Philadelphia music scene is rapidly changing. Now with an influx of Baltimore club influenced acts such as Spank Rock, DJ Sega and Diplo thrown in the mix, it's nearly impossible to describe Philly's musical world. New bands are constantly coming and going. While others linger, making appearances whenever they feel. Philly has all the punk, rap, jazz and funk you can handle; it's easy to get lost in the plethora of sounds. But the real question is what is Philly doing with all this noise? Lucky for us, Cortez! Cortez!! is defining this musical revolution, and they've made it clear that it starts with discovery.

FUN WITH FONDUE SOUNDS CLICHÉ AND YUPPIE, BUT FONDUE CAN BE CHILL TO EAT WITH FRIENDS! IT’S COLD NOW, AND NOTHING’S BETTER THAN HOT FOOD DURING THE WINTER. IT WOULD HELP TO HAVE A FONDUE POT, BUT NOT NECESSARY. YOU CAN USE A REGULAR SAUCEPAN AND WOODEN SKEWERS IN PLACE OF THE TRADITION FONDUE SET. SO THROW A GET TOGETHER AND MAKE SOME FONDUE!
