PROFESSOR, PERFORMING ARTS As a Fine and Performing Arts internship coordinator, Lisa Donovan focuses on understanding the unique skills and talents of each student so she can match them with the internship that’s best for them� She sees tangible results of students’ experiences� “We are seeing students get hired for jobs right after they leave college, and often even before they leave,” she says� “That is largely because they have had incredible opportunities for internships and for real world projects� ”

Over a third of all MCLA students complete an internship in their junior or senior year� You can find one through your academic department or through the Career Services Center� Either way, we’ll guide you through the process and offer support along the way�

Do a real project for a local community partner through a service learning course. You gain experience and make a positive impact on the community� Some of the things students have done recently include:

Evaluating potential bike paths and walking loops for North Adams using graph theory

Raising awareness of hunger through stories and skits

Creating a public relations plan for a local stray dog adoption agency Tutoring second graders in reading and math

Helping a nonprofit update its software and migrate data
