Our dynamic Camp McLean program provides a wide array of experiences and fun for your children. All withdrawals, refunds and cancellation requests MUST be submitted in writing to registrar@mcleancenter.org The center will issue a full refund when a camp program is canceled by the center. Patrons who submit requests for withdrawals and/or cancellations before Friday, April 5, 2019, will receive a full refund. Requests for withdrawals and/or cancellations received after Friday, April 5, 2019, will result in patrons being charged a $100 processing fee, which will be deducted from the total amount paid. If a replacement can be found to fill the space vacated by the cancellation and/or withdrawal, the $100 processing fee will be refunded to the patron. If a replacement cannot be found, a refund of the processing fee will not be issued.

Camper Information Packet. A current and completed Certification of Immunization. A Commonwealth of Virginia School Entrance Physical Examination Form signed by a physician. A copy of the form is acceptable. Any camper under the age of six years old must submit a Physical Examination Form that is dated after August 12, 2018. In accordance with Virginia law, camp staff members are required to witness a document with proof of your child’s age. You must bring one of the following items in when you register your child for camp. Note: Please do not leave the originals. 1. A certified copy of his or her birth certificate. 2. A U.S. Passport (or State Department-issued documentation). 3. Virginia school report card.

How to register Camp Registration begins on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, for MCC district residents and on Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, for all others. Spaces fill quickly, so please register as soon as possible to ensure your child’s space. Be first in line, register online! Online registration starts at midnight. Join the McLean Project for the Arts (MPA) for a variety of imaginative and fun week-long camp sessions! Each week will feature a variety of art activities that will ignite your child’s creativity. Taught by MPA’s experienced art educators, students will learn about and create art in the beautiful and professional DuVal Studio and gallery spaces located inside the McLean Community Center. Vosler young artists’ studio fulL day, weEk-long sesSion monday-friday, aug. 12-16, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. For teens ages 13-18 6601.119 This camp is for any young artist with the desire to learn classical drawing. Previous experience is not necessary. Join us as we welcome back Kerry Vosler and her highly regarded atelier studio for the fourth year! This in-demand workshop will introduce the young artist to a classical atelier program of instruction. Students will learn to draw through direct observation of and critique by master instructor, Kerry Vosler. Students will draw a series of pictures in charcoal throughout the week, including work from the late 19th century Bargue-Gérôme Drawing Course, culminating in a session with a live model on Friday afternoon. Students will have at least two finished portfolio drawings by the end of the week. Parents and families are encouraged to attend the closing certificate ceremony on Friday. MPA’s counselor in training program (cit) fulL day, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. For ages 13+ (Rising 8th Graders) $395 for a two-week program. A minimum commitment of two weeks is required. CITs may extend up to six weeks. MPA’s new Counselor in Training (CIT) program has been developed to enrich the experience of older campers at our summer art camps. CITs chosen by MPA to participate will experience working with younger children in a day camp setting. This program is designed to encourage teaching and leadership skills. CITs will assist in planning and leading activities for our young campers, ages 6-12. This opportunity is ideal for students interested in art, teaching and developing their leadership style under the supervision of MPA’s master faculty. for rising 5th-9th graders monday-friday, june 17-august 9 8 a.m.-6 p.m. With the end of the school year quickly approaching, there’s no need to worry about keeping your child active and happy this summer. The Old Firehouse Summer Camp has you covered with eight (8) weeks of fantastic trips and memorable experiences for your child. Be sure to sign up early as these weeks sell out fast. For your convenience, there are three ways you can register: online, by phone or at the Old Firehouse. Your 2019 Old Firehouse Summer Participant Contract should be submitted no later than June 10, 2019. All other forms and waivers will be sent to you via email and will also be available at the Old Firehouse prior to your camp week. Camp will be held Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. On certain trips, the return time will be later due to trip location. Trips will depart from and return to The Old Firehouse Center, 1440 Chain Bridge Rd., McLean, Va. 22101. Campers may want to bring additional money each day for snacks and incidentals. Please Note: Trips may change due to weather conditions, location availability or other unforeseeable issues. All withdrawals, refunds and cancellation requests MUST be submitted in writing to registrar@mcleancenter.org. The center will issue a full refund when a camp program is canceled by the center. Patrons who submit requests for withdrawals and/or cancellations before Friday, April 5, 2019, will receive a full refund.

Requests for withdrawals and/or cancellations received after Friday, April 5, 2019, will result in patrons being charged a $100 processing fee, which will be deducted from the total amount paid. If a replacement can be found to fill the space vacated by the cancellation and/or withdrawal, the $100 processing fee will be refunded to the patron. If a replacement cannot be found, a refund of the processing fee will not be issued.
