A Message about Social Distancing

McLean Community Center (MCC) programs are being planned with the hope that we will be able to return to normal operations and come together as a community to celebrate the spring season. Programs may be adjusted or cancelled based on current conditions and/or the operating status of MCC. Please check our website for updates.

YOUTH EVENTS Spring Fest Saturday, March 27, 10 a.m.–Noon

$5 per person, children under 36 months are free. Registration in advance is required for all participants. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

For ages 3-8. Join your neighbors at this celebration of the changing of seasons. Enjoy self-guided arts and crafts, entertainment and take advantage of the opportunity for your children to get a photo with Bunny. Bring your camera and smartphone for photos! An MCC sta member will be on hand to take a photo of you and your family. Also remember to bring your basket for our Parent/Child Egg Hunt (10 eggs per child). Please register early as space is limited.

Father Daughter Dance Friday, April 30, 7–8:30 p.m.

$25 per participant/$15 MCC district residents. Each participant must register separately.

For all ages. Join us for an evening to celebrate fathers and daughters. The night includes, music, dancing, light refreshments, a photo booth, a craft and quality time with your princess. Join us to create memories that will last. Princesses will be crowned upon arrival! Formal dress or business attire is recommended. Space is limited, so register early. Free admission; registration is required. The Be Fit McLean health fair is back! This event o ers valuable information on a variety of health issues and preventive practices. Learn how to better manage your mental and physical wellness. Health experts and wellness-related exhibitors o er up-to-date information on such topics as COVID-19, stress management, work-life balance, happiness, nutrition and much more.

Virtual: McLean Uncorked—Part 3 Live Launch: Sunday, Feb. 7, 5–6 p.m.

Free admission; registration is required. For beginners and connoisseurs alike, this wine experience will not disappoint! Join your friends or surprise your Valentine and enjoy this fun, virtual, live and interactive wine tasting and food pairing event. Four unique wines for this tasting are available to pre-purchase by registrants at Balducci’s in McLean. Selected wines are from regions and wineries around the globe. A wine expert will lead this session and explore the selected wines as well as other interesting aspects of the art of wine tasting.

UPCOMING IN-PERSON EVENTS

MCC safety practices are guided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state and the Fairfax County Health Department including maintaining a minimum distance of six feet from cars and each other. Participants must wear a face mask. Those considered to be in a high-risk category for contracting COVID-19 should consult a doctor before participating.

McLean Earth Day—Act Locally Saturday, April 17, 9 a.m.-Noon

Free admission; registration required. This drive-through, outdoor, environmental action event provides a convenient way for McLean residents to better the planet. Several local community businesses and organizations will provide four key facets of environmental health in the spirit of shredding, reusing, recycling and planting. Free tree saplings and pollinator seeds will be distributed, first-come, first-served. Limits apply. See our website for full list of accepted items.

Volunteers Needed for McLean Day and July 4th Fireworks Celebration
