EVENTS & LOUNGE

Attend seminars, conferences, cultural excursions and other enriching events throughout the year. The Honors Lounge also allows cohorts to study, discuss issues and exchange ideas.

Students interested in applying to the Honors College must first meet the admission criteria. Admission criteria include a minimum GPA of 3.40 on a 4.00 scale and a composite score of 27 on the ACT or a total score of 1260 on the SAT.

Internships

Internships are a great way for students to get hands-on experience in their field of study under the supervision of an experienced professional. Internships can be on or off campus, paid or unpaid and typically last one semester. Many McNeese interns are able to translate their internship experiences into full-time employment after graduation.

Resources for Students

Starting college is one of the first major life transitions. To ensure that students get the support they need to truly thrive, McNeese offers a range of services from tutoring and counseling to career development and coaching. Write to Excellence Center The WTEC offers feedback on written work to help students become better writers. The center can help you brainstorm for a writing assignment, guide you in editing and proofreading, help you cite sources and assist you with the development, organization, style and clarity of a draft.

ACC Tutoring Center/Mathlab Tutoring Center These centers provide tutoring in the math and science subject areas. The center operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so appointments are not necessary.

Student Health Services Student Health Services offers acute medical care for students. Registered nurses are on duty and doctors maintain daily clinic hours.

Counseling Center The Counseling Center assists students with personal, academic, developmental and mental health needs. College life presents new challenges and opportunities to all students and our counselors strive to help them navigate, adapt and succeed.
