Whether you are renovating or starting from scratch, here are some tips and trends that will ensure your kitchens are both beautiful and functional.

Multipurpose island benches

The island bench continues to be one of the most important features in your kitchen.

From after school homework to hang outs, the island bench has become more than just a place to prepare food.

Make it as big as you can, leave space for some breakfast bar seating and ensure the material is suitable for use and doesn’t mark too easily.

The use of natural materials such as timber and stone can add warmth and charm to your kitchen, a trend which has been extremely popular this year and will continue into next year. Cooler tones are a trend of the past, replaced with warm tones which are more comforting and homely.

Storage, storage, storage and more storage! While it can be a real struggle, especially if you have a smaller kitchen, there are still plenty of ways you can ensure that your kitchen has ample. Ensure every inch of space from floor to ceiling has clever and concealed cabinetry in varying sizes. You can use large, deep drawers for everything from pots and pans to pantry items.

Butler’s pantry

If you’ve got the space, a butler’s pantry can add extra storage and convenience to your kitchen area. You can store appliances such as your microwave, toaster and kettle in your butler’s pantry or even include a coffee and tea station.
