Echuca-Moama is the ultimate wedding

engagement

ECHUCA-MOAMA is proving to be one of the most popular wedding destinations across the state. Its picturesque landscape, breathtaking Murray River, historic port and majestic paddlesteamers are attracting more couples to the twin towns for their special day. Echuca-Moama Tourism chief executive Kathryn MacKenzie said about 300 weddings on average a year were being held in Echuca-Moama. “Operators are telling us at the moment they are having one wedding on a Friday night and two on Saturday so it’s very busy, frantic time for them,” she said. “I think people are looking for that dream experience where they can do things and the river and water lends itself to that. “Also the bush and nature-based tourism is very fashionable at the moment. We also have good accommodation and they lend themselves to being innovative.

“Then there are people who have links to the area so they may have grown up here or holidayed here. While others just want to get out of Melbourne and Echuca is a reasonably priced alternative.” When EMT attended the wedding expo in Melbourne earlier this year, Kathryn said there was a real focus on destination weddings. “It’s almost like a holiday for everyone who comes,” she said. “The bridal party and guests will go on paddlesteamer rides and the bride will organise other things in Echuca-Moama while they’re here.” As such, our wedding industry continues to generate millions of dollars for the local economy each year and is showing no signs of

slowing down. “It’s a really great industry for Echuca-Moama and the ripple effect is huge, from the cafes, hairdressers, beauticians and day spas who also benefit,” Kathryn said. “It’s a lucrative market for EchucaMoama and impacts so many businesses. “I think that is why EMT is keen to work with all the operators and the retail sector to continue to promote it. “EMT sees the wedding industry as a strong niche for us and we’re going to do more work in this area. Our next step is to develop weddings as a stronger portal.”

THERE’S PRE-WEDDING JITTERS AND THEN THERE’S SERIOUS PRE-WEDDING WORRIES BUT WHEN YOUR BIG DAY IS HELD IN SUCH A SPECTACULAR SETTING, WITH SO MANY FAMILY AND FRIENDS, YOU JUST KNOW IT IS ALL GOING TO TURN OUT ALRIGHT ON THE DAY (AND THE RECEPTION THAT NIGHT) IT’S the biggest day of your life, it’s hot, you haven’t eaten anything and your nerves are going off the radar. Something’s gotta give. And it did. Thankfully a quick check over by the paramedics ensured Dylan Burt could continue to enjoy his Echuca-Moama wedding to his stunning bride Chelsea without another hitch. The Bendigo couple were married at Paradise Gardens on November 17. “Our ceremony was at a nice secluded garden, surrounded by plants, trees and flowers,” Chelsea said. “It was such a beautiful moment being walked down the aisle by my dad and seeing the smile on my groom’s face at the end, it was the

most surreal feeling.” The picturesque Murray River made for a perfect backdrop for their photos. “It was so special having those very intimate moments with your groom being able to hold each other while being photographed and just being so comfortable with each other. You can really tell how much you do love each other,” Chelsea said. While the bridal party had photos taken, the 86 guests played some cricket and games along the Murray, while enjoying a few drinks and nibbles. The reception at Moama Bowling Club really encapsulated the modern, elegant theme of the wedding. “I thought Moama was a gorgeous destination, not too far from

Bendigo and I have never seen somewhere quite so amazing as the Moama Bowling Club and knew that’s where I wanted to have my reception,” Chelsea said. “We had so many compliments from our guests of how beautiful the venue was, with relatives saying they thought they were walking into the Brownlow. “Once we headed to the reception, the bridal party all danced to Time of Our Lives as they came in the door and Dyl and I danced to Marry Me by Bruno Mars.” Chelsea said the food was spectacular, with guests enjoying a three-course (alternative) menu and canapes. “As we sat there having our meals, the band played beautiful acoustic music until everyone was ready to party and dance,” Chelsea said. >> ECHUCA-MOAMA WEDDINGS | 2019 11

12 ECHUCA-MOAMA WEDDINGS | 2019

>>

“Because Dylan hadn’t eaten anything throughout the day and being a warmish day he started to feel ill and couldn’t eat. “We headed out of the reception to get fresh air but he started to feel worse. “The venue arranged for the ambos to come check him over to see if he was dehydrated and had heat stroke or anything like that but everything was alright so Dyl made it back to the reception, doing speeches and our first dance which was unfortunately being modified to something very simple.” After the little hiccup, Chelsea spent most of the night on the dance floor as did most of the guests. “The band was absolutely amazing and everyone had such a great night enjoying the food, company and music,” she said. “During speeches, hearing our closest friends and our family talk about our relationship in the speeches and about how happy we make each other is an amazing feeling and shows you how much you mean to them. “We ended the night with all our guests circulating the dance floor so we could say our goodbyes to everyone.” Chelsea wore a strapless ivory lace gown while Dylan complemented her with a charcoal suit and ivory shirt complete with mauve/silvery tie and tie clip. The native flowers, gum leaves and roses set off their look. And their white three-tier cake decorated with flowers was a real crowd pleaser with its caramel, lemon and chocolate flavours. But the best part of the whole day? “Having almost everyone on the dance floor and enjoying the night,” Chelsea said.

STEPHENS JEWELLERS FINE DIAMONDS, ADVICE AND JEWELLERY DESIGN SPECIALISTS Why do some diamonds sparkle more than others? I’m sure at this point you’ve either been told about the 4Cs or read about them online. Ultimately the sparkle of each diamond is a unique outcome of the cutter’s ability to optimise the brilliance of the diamond crystal paying attention to all of the 4Cs. The finer the grade or ‘make’ of the stone the brighter it will shine and the higher its value. Pop into your local Stephens Jewellers and we can easily demonstrate this for you. We also have a terrific booklet available to help better understand diamond quality and value. Our goal is always to provide the best quality to suit any budget.

I want to surprise my partner with an engagement ring, I know the styles she likes but not sure about her finger size how can I keep it a surprise but not get it all wrong? Rest assured, we are very used to keeping a secret and will always be able help fine tune your surprise purchase with you and your partner once you’ve given the ring. Our experienced consultants are here to help bring your thoughts on design to reality without concerns.

I would love to incorporate my Gran’s engagement ring and anniversary band into my engagement ring, it means so much to me, is this possible and does it cost more to do this? We understand the importance a family heirloom brings to a couples wedding and engagement celebration and regularly restore original designs to their former beauty or integrate them into a new modern design. The starting point is an inspection of the goods to determine what condition the stones and metals ae in and from there we work with you on the best options available.

I’ve been looking for my perfect ring for ages but can’t really find exactly what I’m looking for what should I do? Buying an engagement ring is a very personal expression of love and everyone wants something a little unique. Once we understand the design elements that are important to you and your partner we can work through the selection process. Often we will have the design you’re looking for in store and simply need to make a few customisation adjustments. Alternatively our design selection images will help stimulate the process but ultimately our experienced diamond consultants will listen carefully to your needs and help bring your dream design to reality.

We found the perfect ring design online but it looks pretty expensive can we still achieve this look to match our budget? Stephens Jewellers design team can bring your dream ring design to life at a very affordable price range. Often ring designs found online or admired on celebrities will feature large or unique centre stones. Once we understand the look you want achieve and your budget we can access the best value diamonds or coloured stones both within Australia and our global diamond supply network.

We want to shop locally but we also want to create something a bit different and be confident we are getting good value. The diamond market has changed a lot over recent years, we source diamonds direct from international diamond merchants, so great value is guaranteed. Making an appointment in our Shepparton or Echuca consulting suit is a great way to manage your privacy. Our buying power and custom design services ensure you have access to exceptional value and the very latest in jewellery design trends. Confidentiality is guaranteed and we support each ring design with an independent valuation.

We bought this engagement ring whilst on holidays overseas, can you design a wedding band to suit? The majority of our jewellery repair and manufacturing is completed in our Shepparton facility and generally speaking we can adjust ring sizes or create complimentary wedding band designs without too much difficulty. If you are thinking of buying a design overseas it’s always important to keep it simple especially shoulder work as the more complex the higher the risk in years to come.

There are so many men’s wedding band designs out there I’m confused and don’t know where to start. We understand your situation, it’s fantastic just how many options are available for men’s engagement and wedding bands now compared to only five years ago. Our suggestion is to start by working out whether his ring will be worn every day or due to work situations only on special occasions. There are many very durable metal choices available and we can create the same design in various metals. We have access to all men’s wedding band collections with simple digital tools in store to browse, so a consultation with one of our specialist consultants is a great starting point.

WHEN YOU ARE SCOURING THE REGION FOR JUST THE RIGHT PLACE FOR THAT MOST IMPORTANT OF DAYS AND YOU FIND ONE YOU IMMEDIATELY KNOW IS THE PLACE YOU WERE DREAMING OF YOU MUST HAVE ARRIVED AT RICH RIVER RICH River Golf Club offered everything Alanah and Travis Costello were looking for in a wedding venue. Idyllic setting — check. Perfect location — check. A bit of golf course fun — check. Great value for money — double check. “We both chose Echuca-Moama as out of all the other places we considered, we weren’t too happy with them and as soon as we went to Rich River Golf Club, I knew after five minutes of being there that this was the place,” Alanah said. “It just felt so right. I just loved the scenery of the place and it was such good value.” The Kyabram couple declared their nuptials on February 15 at The Lakes; a secluded and romantic setting with lakeside surrounds, nestled among picturesque fairways. Alanah looked like a princess as she walked down the aisle wearing an ivory white lace gown, watched on by Travis in a light grey suit with white shirt and dusty pink tie. It was a moment neither will likely forget. “Walking down the aisle with my dad Nick and seeing Trav at the end was one of the best moments for me,” Alanah said. “The main thing I remember, like it was yesterday, was the moment I hopped out of the ute to get ready to walk down the aisle with dad. >> 18 ECHUCA-MOAMA WEDDINGS | 2019

“We both stood there, waiting for our turn to walk and we both started to almost cry. My dad then goes to me ‘we can do this’ and as soon as I started to walk down the aisle, I just got a massive smile on my face looking at Travis standing down the end. “I couldn’t believe the day was here. “Travis and I couldn’t stay looking at each other, otherwise we both would have had tears falling down our faces, but we both managed to not cry.” They managed to hold it together before sealing their love with a kiss which saw their guests erupting into joyful laughter. “So when I was putting makeup on at the last minute, I decided to go with a different brand of lipstick,” Alanah said.

“That was a bad idea because when Travis and I kissed, he ended up with red lipstick on his lips.

flowers which consisted of white and dusty pink roses and gum tree leaves.

“We had all the people in the front row getting tissues out to pass to him to get it off. There was a lot of laughs.

When the 120 guests retreated inside for the reception, they were treated to a two-course sit down meal.

“I then left my mark on all the groomsmen when it was time to give them all a hug.”

“The food was just amazing. We couldn’t have asked for anything better,” Alanah said.

And the laughter continued through to the bridal party’s photo shoot.

“The staff were just so lovely and kind and very helpful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

“We had so much fun driving around on golf carts and taking photos,” Alanah said.

“The whole wedding, from the ceremony to the reception, was everything Trav and I could have hoped for.

Talk about staging

a family affair

THEY FELL IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER — AND THEN FELL ALL OVER AGAIN FOR TINDARRA RESORT, WHICH WOULD DELIVER THE INTIMATE SETTING THIS OUT-OF-TOWN COUPLE WANTED AS THEY TIED THE KNOT IN FRONT OF A GROUP OF THEIR CLOSEST FAMILY AND FRIENDS INDIANA and Samuel Ticker’s wedding had everything. The perfect setting, their oneand-a-half-year-old son Eamon cruising down the aisle in a mini Mercedes and an announcement the couple was expecting their second child. And what’s more — the couple from Warracknabeal planned their wedding in just two months. “We didn’t really have much time to get organised, but we were pretty lucky with our venue and our wedding being on a Wednesday as no one really has a weekday wedding these days unless it’s

secret like us,” Indi said. “We decided we’d start to organise for our wedding just before Christmas so that didn’t give us much time at all but we knew what we wanted and knew what we liked and didn’t. We’re pretty easy and went with the flow so if we couldn’t get something, we would either go somewhere else or go with another alternative.” But as soon as they saw Tindarra Resort, they knew they’d found their perfect venue. “We had just been Googling multiple wedding destinations one day but we fell in love with Tindarra and after a meeting with

the wonderful staff there we knew we wanted to get married right there. Our planner at Tindarra did a fantastic job of making our lives easy organising the day,” Indi said. “And with the Murray in the background we couldn’t have asked for a better spot. The venue had absolutely everything and with a family of younger kids there was something to keep everyone entertained.” The couple were married on February 20, surrounded by just their closest friends and family. “We only had about 20 friends and family there on the day,” Indi said. >>

“Family is so important to us. We didn’t want the big white wedding but we also didn’t want to do the whole run away and get married thing either, we wanted our family with us hence such a small wedding ticked both boxes. “We honestly couldn’t have picked a better group to share our special day.” The ceremony went off without a hitch, and there were plenty of happy tears. Indi walked down the aisle in a strapless blush pink gown with beaded bodice, sweetheart neckline and horsehair skirt, complemented with beautiful native flowers. Sam wore a white shirt and navy tie paired with blue trousers. “We had the beautiful sunshine and gorgeous views of the river 24 ECHUCA-MOAMA WEDDINGS | 2019

surrounding us,” Indi said. “It was so cosy, casual, chilled and relaxing. It was held in the outdoors which already had its naturally beautiful look. “The arbor was done up with a boho style but still minimal effort but was exactly what we wanted.” And having Eamon being part of their big day was a memory they will cherish forever. “It was all amazing but for both Sam and I it meant the world to us to have our son be in our wedding,” Indi said. “We decided to have him drive down the aisle in a mini Mercedes Benz with our wedding rings. That was a special moment for us.” But wait, there’s more. “We decided we’d drop a bombshell we had been keeping to ourselves for some time during

our photos after the ceremony,” Indi said. “That was that we are expecting our second child in September. The reaction we got was surprising and we can’t wait for the extra excitement to come to our family.” The small and low-key reception was also held at Tindarra in a marquee next to the river, with guests enjoying a delicious array of cocktail food. “Because we were a small group we thought it would be much easier to have a variety of different kinds of food to please everyone,” Indi said. “The food was so delicious our guests enjoyed every single piece of tasty goodness that came out, it felt like it just kept coming and coming. We all ended up in a food coma by the end of the night. >>

>>

“The reception was perfect and it felt very intimate to both Sam and I.” If that wasn’t enough, Tracy’s Cakes made a small white mud cake as well as yummy doughnuts. For Sam, the best part of the day was when the music started playing and his future wife walked down the aisle. And while Indi enjoyed being dolled up for her big day, she said it was about their commitment to each other. “I felt like a princess which is what every bride wants on their wedding day but honestly the best part by far was when we made it official and put the wedding rings on each other’s fingers and officially becoming husband and wife and sealing our love with a kiss,” she said.

ECHUCA’S picturesque riverfront landscape made the perfect setting for Renae and James Jacques’ magical day — a romantic fairytale-style wedding they will cherish forever. “We both live here in Echuca, we love the river and the natural setting of the place,” Renae said. The Echuca couple exchanged vows on March 16 at the heritage-listed wharf, overlooking the Murray. “It was a beautiful set-up and everything went to plan,” Renae said. “We had a white arbour with flowers and wine barrels with flower arrangements as well as blocks spelling out LOVE and bench seating for the guests.” 30 ECHUCA-MOAMA WEDDINGS | 2019

Walking down the aisle in a fitted ivory lace gown with a beaded top and small train with open back, Renae felt like the luckiest woman on earth, as a handsome James, in a traditional black tuxedo, stood waiting. “I was so happy and excited,” Renae recalled. “I wasn’t emotional at all. I couldn’t wait to marry my best friend.” To make the day even more special, the couple managed to have some photos taken aboard the PS Pevensey, where they got engaged two years earlier. “It was February 18, 2017 and we went for a cruise on the Pevensey, which I normally wouldn’t do as I’ve been on it

101 times but I just thought I’d roll with it this one time. Anyway, as we got close to the bridge, James had his brother drop a banner from it saying ‘Will you marry me’?” Renae said. “So when we were getting photos on the wharf, the Pevensey was sitting there so they let us get some photos on it. “It was really special and made me feel even more like it was meant to be.” Meanwhile, the groomsmen — possibly helped along by some liquid courage — stole away with the flowers and dropped their pants for a photo of their own. “We managed to get a lot of funny and interesting photos taken on >> the day,” Renae said.

“In the morning before the wedding, James and his brother Liam got photos wakeboarding. James was in a tuxedo and Liam in a wedding dress, which they’d bought from an op shop.” The celebration continued with a magical reception at Radcliffe’s Restaurant. “Because of the vines and the fairy lights, it really did look like a fairytale,” Renae said. “We kept the decorations pretty simple, with mirrors and vases with green and white flowers.” The neat white roses by Lisa O’Connell at Wallingford Flowers set off the magical look, complemented by a three-tiered white mud, chocolate mud and marble naked cake with white roses, made by Tracy’s Cakes.

“We had out first dance to Amazed by Lonestar,” she said.

SHARING AN UNBREAKABLE BOND WITH THE TWIN TOWNS AND THE MURRAY SET THE SCENE FOR ONE MELBOURNE COUPLE’S CHOICE OF WEDDING VENUE AND THE BEGINNING OF THE REST OF THEIR LIVES ECHUCA-MOAMA is their “happy place”.

The setting is spectacular, but the staff absolutely made it,” Shilo said.

and was a reflection of Adam and my life together.

Which is why high-school sweethearts Shilo and Adam Taylor chose it for their special day.

“There was nothing they said no to, they were so accommodating.”

“We value our family and friends so much and wanted this to be evident throughout the day.”

“Adam and I always say EchucaMoama is our happy place,” Shilo said. “We are fortunate that our family regularly holidays at Merool and has been for about 15 years.

Given it was over the Melbourne Cup long weekend, it became more of a wedding festival, complete with pre-wedding dinner and Sippy Cup Sunday for their recovery session.

And the Murray River was the perfect setting for the Melbourne couple’s wedding at Morrisons Winery on November 3.

“Echuca-Moama RSL hosted 110 on the Friday night as our prewedding dinner, the wedding had 150 guests at Morrisons and about 150 for Sippy Cup Sunday as our wedding recovery session,” Shilo said.

“Morrisons is such a unique venue.

“Our wedding was incredible fun

“We both love to spend time on the river.”

With a rustic-style engagement party, the couple wanted their wedding to fit with the theme of Morrisons while also being chic. “We did this by incorporating white and rose gold as our colour scheme,” Shilo said. The colour scheme carried through to the flowers, arranged by Wallingford Flowers. “The flowers were one of my favourite parts of the entire wedding,” Shilo said.

“Lisa O’Connell arranged all of our flowers, which included soft pink and apricot orchids and peony roses, and did an incredible job. We have had so many guests comment on the flowers since.” The bride walked down the aisle wearing a three-dimensional flower applique fitted gown with a removable skirt that was taken off for the reception while the groom complemented her with a navy Politix suit. “Our ceremony felt very intimate and very us. Our celebrant did an incredible job in creating a ceremony that reflected both myself and Adam individually as well as us as a couple,” Shilo said. A cocktail hour was held between the ceremony and reception, where guests enjoyed finger food and canapes. “We decided on cocktail for our wedding as we thought that fitted with mine and Adam’s personality and dream for our wedding,” Shilo said. “We wanted the wedding to be extremely social and thought a cocktail environment enabled that. The food was incredible. Again, we have had so many guests comment on the quality and quantity of the food. We also had a lot of guests with dietary requirements and Morrisons absolutely met all of our guests needs.” And it was all topped off with a three-tiered white and rose gold cake, flavoured with white chocolate and raspberry, red velvet and butterscotch chocolate fudge. At the end of the night, Shilo broke tradition and surprised guests by deciding not to throw >> her bouquet. ECHUCA-MOAMA WEDDINGS | 2019 37

“I decided to give it to the couple at the wedding who had been married the longest,” she said. “My aunty and uncle received the bouquet and have cherished it.” The next day, guests recovered at Sippy Cup Sunday at the Morrison’s house, catered by Moama Lions Club. “They were incredible and we had such a good time catching up with everyone,” Shilo said. It was the fitting end to a three-day celebration of two people who guests say were meant for each other. “We started dating at 16 and after finding things to do individually for a few years, we met up again in our 20s and have been inseparable since,” Shilo said “Our friends and family always said that we would end up together forever.”

You can have your cake

and eat it too

WHETHER IT IS SLICED OPEN WITH A SABRE OR PRE-CUT AND PACKED FOR GUESTS TO TAKE; IT WOULD BE HARD TO IMAGINE A WEDDING WITHOUT THE WEDDING CAKE TRENDS come and go, but wedding cakes remain a firm tradition for couples on their big day. And Tracy Luscombe from Tracy’s Cakes has had a huge year when it comes to cake styles. She said semi-naked cakes, two or three-tiered, were still so popular with fresh flowers to complement and match in with the other decorations. “Native flowers on wedding cakes are increasing in popularity this year, especially if you are having that country rustic feel at your wedding,” she said. “Doughnuts have made an 46 ECHUCA-MOAMA WEDDINGS | 2019

appearance at many weddings with a small cake on top as an alternative to a tiered cake. “White fondant cakes are still popular for that classic clean look, which some couples still love.” Although she has been baking and decorating cakes for more than 20 years, Tracy still loves seeing a couple’s wedding cake come together and being the centrepiece of their reception. “Clients normally send me photos of their ideas that they have seen online or on my Facebook page and we work together to get their wedding cake exactly right for them,” she said.

“A wedding cake is only limited by your imagination and I do love coming up with something new and exciting. “I get a lot of pride and satisfaction in knowing that I’ve created something beautiful for such a special couple on their day to remember. “It’s also great to get photos and feedback afterwards knowing they loved their cake. “That’s why I love what I do.”

Golden memories from anniversary with 3100 guests ONE ECHUCA COUPLE CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF MARRIAGE TOOK TO THE HIGH SEAS ON THE APTLY NAMED GOLDEN PRINCESS AS THEY CELEBRATED THEIR OWN GOLDEN MILESTONE ECHUCA couple Janis and Ken Wilson wanted to do something special for their 50th wedding anniversary. And a cruise to New Zealand ticked all the boxes. Easy, no constant unpacking and packing, pre-booked excursions, on-board food and entertainment and best of all — stunning scenery. And thanks to a 13-night promotion aboard the Golden Princess offered through Flight Centre, the Wilsons experienced a holiday they will never forget. “A cruise to New Zealand is very easy for all ages, just unpack your bags and everything is done for you,” Janis said.

to Auckland. Climbing Mount Victoria offered a spectacular view of the city, while a short ferry ride to Devonport allowed them to explore a heritage and arts destination and seaside village. Their next port was at Tauranga where they had booked the Waihi Gold Discovery Experience; a scenic bus trip to Waihi. “After morning tea of homemade muffins we enjoyed an informative tour of Waihi’s iconic Cornish Pumphouse,” Janis said. The Goldfields Heritage Railway

offered a ride between Waikino and Waihi, including the Gold Discovery Centre, before they travelled back to the ship at Tauranga, enjoying the New Zealand countryside along the way. Upon arriving in Wellington, Ken went on a quad bike tour, taking in lush native bush, a windswept alpine forest, towering hillsides and spectacular craggy shores. “Following the guide, beginning at sea level we biked along 62 miles of trails, slowly climbing to 2900 feet to the summit of a mountain peak,” Ken said. >>

“We had a wonderful package deal which involved being picked up at our front door by Echuca Flight Centre mini bus. “On arriving at Port Melbourne we were dropped off right at the entrance to the ship, no pushing cases. Our luggage was ready to be taken on board for us, we were upgraded to a mini suite which was very nice and also given on-board credits to use and a special dinner at Italian restaurant Sabatini’s.” Departing on February 25, the Wilsons along with another 3100 guests sailed for four nights ECHUCA-MOAMA WEDDINGS | 2019 49

“The mountain trails were sometimes shrouded in a cooling mist.” Janis enjoyed Wellington highlights through XPLOR Tours, which covered stops at the Weta Cave, Beehive Parliament building, Old St Paul’s Cathedral, Wellington sign, Mt Victoria and the iconic cable car. “We also saw from the van Te Papa Museum of New Zealand, St  Gerard’s Church and Monastery, Southern Hemisphere’s largest roundabout, Lady Norwood Rose Garden, Embassy Theatre, Wahine Memorial, rugged coastline and National War Museum,” she said. They then stopped in at the Akaroa port, before arriving at Port Chalmers where they boarded the Taieri Gorge by Train tour. “This round trip from dockside Port Chalmers is convenient and

scenic,” Janis said. “We crossed magnificent wrought iron viaducts and bridges and gasped at the sheer drops to the river below. “There were 10 tunnels with rock walls only inches from the train. One of the viaducts was built in the 1880s. The Panoramic windows allowed a great view.” The ship continued another three nights at sea before arriving back in Melbourne on March 10 where the Flight Centre team was waiting to collect the Wilsons and take them home. “Our experience at Flight Centre Echuca was amazing,” Janis said. “We were given suggested travel options to choose from for our special occasion and all our questions regarding the cruise were met with a cheerful response.

Also the Flight Centre return transfers were amazing and very welcomed.” Ken said the most enjoyable part of the trip was quad biking in Wellington, not having to pack and unpack bags every day, as well as the food and on-board entertainment in the Princess Theatre. Janis found the mini-suite lovely and enjoyed the array of dining and entertainment available. “Staff had a very good knowledge of their job and we really enjoyed all our excursions,” she said. “We could probably do the same cruise again but with different excursions which would make the whole trip different.” Flight Centre Echuca 207 Pakenham Street, Echuca 1300 805 727
