Chocolate Stuffed Gingerbread Cookies
METHOD
STEP 1
Cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in molasses then gradually add egg, beating well until combined. Sift in the flour, soda and spices and stir into butter mix until combined into a very soft dough. Note: Don’t worry if the dough is really soft, it should still roll into balls easily.
STEP 2
Roll half-a-tablespoon of mixture into balls. Take a piece of chocolate and sandwich a ball of dough on each side. Firmly press together ensuring the sides are sealed and roll into a ball.
STEP 3
Place up to 25 balls on a baking paper-lined tray about 5cm apart. Using a skewer, imprint Christmas patterns into the uncooked dough. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 180°C or until lightly browned and cooked through (they will be soft and cakey in texture). Allow to cool before removing from the baking tray and dusting with icing sugar.

Have a happy Friendsmas
CHRISTMAS IS USUALLY ASSOCIATED WITH SPENDING TIME WITH FAMILY, EVEN IF IT’S THE ONLY TIME OF THE YEAR YOU SEE THEM.
But it’s important to not forget about your close friends, who you see throughout the year and are your ‘chosen’ family.
So, whether you can’t see you family this year or you want to celebrate Christmas with your friends, ‘Friendsmas’ may become the new yearly tradition you most look forward to. (Google it — Friendsmas is definitely a thing.)
Here is a guide on how to host the perfect Friendsmas party that is sure to impress.
CREATE THE GUEST LIST
The secret to having the best party is ensuring a perfect guest list.
Think of the friends you would most like to celebrate Christmas with and send them an invitation ahead of time, just to make sure they have the date saved.
DECIDE ON A THEME
Are you going to have a traditional
Christmas theme with ugly sweaters and all (aka Bridget Jones’s Diary) or are you going to go for a more traditional Aussie Christmas with thongs and summer gear? Choosing the right theme will help to set the mood and ensure everyone is ready for the party that is to come.
CHOOSE THE MENU
Just like the theme, you need to decide on a menu. Are you going to go for a turkey and ham and full roast dinner or will you go for a barbecue with prawns and fresh seafood?
Make sure to let your guests know what to bring so you aren’t doubling up on your food — though double the ham isn’t always a bad thing.
ENTERTAINMENT
Yes, you’re going to have a feast, but what will you do between meals?
Are you going to be playing music? If so, have you got a cracker playlist lined up?
Or are you going to play some games? Pictionary, charades, cricket or ring toss are always crowd favourites.
Making sure you have your entertainment sorted will mean everyone’s going to have an unforgettable day.
GIFTS
While gifts are not the most important part of Christmas, it’s important to determine what the present situation will look like.
Are you going to exchange them so no-one gets left out? If so, are you going to bring a gift for every person who’s coming or will you do a secret Santa-style exchange?
The questions are endless, and they’ll be coming your way from guests if you don’t make a sure-fire decision.
Make a statement
AS THE WEATHER HEATS UP AND OUR NIGHTS GET LONGER, WE ARE REMINDED THAT CHRISTMAS IS NEAR.
WE’VE GATHERED THE LATEST, ON-TREND CHRISTMAS DECORATIVE THEMES WHICH ARE SURE TO IMPRESS YOUR GUESTS THROUGHOUT THE FESTIVE SEASON.
DARK AND DRAMATIC
Keep it moody and mysterious this Christmas, with an ultra-modern colour palette.
Add drama by furnishing your home in decorations of Gothic colours.
Matte black finishes tie in perfectly with this theme to keep your space dark and calm.
As for table settings, a black tablecloth accompanied by grey and gold dinner sets will take your Christmas level to new heights of sophistication.
RUSTIC AND NEUTRAL Get inspired to bring the outdoors in, with touches of earthy elements this festive season.
Rustic Christmas decor includes neutral elements, combined with touches of wood.
Complemented by some foliage and a few stick candles, a rustic and neutral Christmas palette is sure to evoke the feeling of freshness.
‘Stick Christmas Tree’ is all the rage right now, and while it looks fantastic in the home, it can also double as a DIY project.
KEEP IT SIMPLE
Why not opt for something chic and sophisticated?
Your home is your safe space, and as the business of Christmas can overtake our lives, it’s nice to come home to a calming environment.
Minimalist decor is not only harmonious, but also glamorous.
Opt for an array of clean lines and avoid patterns.
In terms of colours, a palette of white, green and gold is always a winner.
And if you’re tired of traditional wreaths, ribbons and bows are very on-trend right now.
EMBRACE TRADITION
And lastly, we must not neglect the traditions of green, red and gold.
Play around with foliage this year and try your hand at creating a gorgeous garland for an entrance or doorway, or a centrepiece for this year’s table setting.
You can’t go wrong with the warmth and cheeriness that glistens with this traditional colour palette.

Drinks are on the house
THERE IS NOTHING MORE TRADITIONALLY CHRISTMAS THAN A WARM SLICE OF PLUM PUDDING AND A GLASS OF EGGNOG ON THE SIDE.
Although we all look forward to the one time in the year when it’s acceptable to drink a glass of milk spiked with a little too much whiskey or rum, there are so many other delicious Christmas cocktails that will pair perfectly with Australia’s hot summer.

Make your Christmas a little spicier. Serves four.
INGREDIENTS:

2. Shake for 15 seconds.
4. Rim the glass, either martini or a double old fashioned, with sugar syrup.
5. Place rimmed glass into crushed candy canes.
6. Strain liquids into the glass.
CHERRY CAIPIROSKA
Let’s face it — the best part about summer is the abundance of cherries, so why not make the most of them and use them in a cocktail. Serves one.
INGREDIENTS:
• 60 ml vodka
• 30 ml sugar syrup
• 30 ml lime juice
• 5–10 pitted cherries
• 5–10 mint leaves
METHOD:
1. Add the lime juice, sugar syrup and pitted cherries to the bottom of a glass.

GIVE THE GIFT OF
CHRISTMAS IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER, AND WITH IT COMES THE TASK OF BUYING GIFTS, WHICH FOR SOME, CAN BE A STRESSFUL TIME.
For parents, buying gifts for their kids can be incredibly difficult — having to find gifts for each child that they will love and enjoy.
It can be even more difficult as the kids grow up and become teenagers — an age that can still enjoy gifts more associated with kids, but also lean towards more adult presents.
One of the best ways to ensure your teenagers are going to love your gifts is to take them with you when you go Christmas shopping.
Bree Harding, the Shepparton News parenting expert, believes buying for teenagers can be easier.
“Younger kids change their minds a bunch of times from when they write their wish list to Santa,” she said.
“But with older kids, they understand you will shop in advance, so if they tell you they want something, you can tell them you will buy it.”
If you still want to keep their gifts a secret so they are surprised on Christmas Day, you can let them point out gift ideas and then you can purchase the items without them, so they don’t know what they are getting.
Bree said gift cards, good quality sporting equipment, make-up, good quality skin care products, perfume, power banks,
technology and clothes were all great ideas for teenagers — if you haven’t been told what to buy already.
Thinking about the child and what they love can make the decision-making process far easier.
Do they spend a lot of time outdoors? Do they enjoy museums and the library? Maybe they love cooking or playing video games.
If you’re looking for ideas for younger kids, LEGO, sporting equipment, books, sticker sets, craft kits, jewellery kits, bikes and scooters are all going to be winners come Christmas morning, Bree said.
Ace the graze craze
IT’S THE AGEOLD CHRISTMAS STRESSOR HOW DO YOU CATER FOR THE MASSES WHEN THE MASSES HAVE DIFFERING TASTES?
We’re not saying we’ve found the solution, but a grazing platter is about as close as you can get to securing a room full of smiling faces and happy tummies.
For beginners through to those a little more advanced in the grazing world, we’ve laid out a quick howto on making your platter the best it can be.
CHOOSE A GOOD MIX
It’s the age-old debate, sweet or savoury? Luckily a good platter calls for both.
For the sweet tooth, try adding some gingerbread or a scattering of chocolate buttons.
There’s no such thing as too much cheese or crackers in the savoury world. Brie, camembert, blue, cheddar all are welcome. Your only issue will be squeezing them all on.
NON-NEGOTIABLES
There are a few items that act as the very foundations of a grazing board.
To keep those munching content, you’ll want to include an array of deli meats, olives, at least two types of dips and crackers, a nut mix and chocolate.
BRIGHT AND BOUNTIFUL
To really get the Christmas theme popping, try a sprinkling of cranberries and native greenery or string fairy lights across the board.
SEASONAL FRUIT
While it’s important the board has pops of colour, it’s a higher priority the fruit chosen is ripe and ready your guests will thank you later.
LOCAL PRODUCE
What better time than Christmas to support local?
As the food bowl of Victoria, the Goulburn Valley is rich in produce.
This means getting your hands on a locally crafted quince paste, loaf of bread, pate or jam should be a piece of cake most of which are essential to a grazing board.
PLACEMENT
We recommend starting with your cheeses, dips and olives as the base, then adding in larger centrepiece items like grape bunches or bread slices.
Once you’ve found that sweet spot, fill the gaps with your fresh fruit, cured meats and everything else.
NO MESS
If you’re serving a whole table, we suggest using brown paper as a covering to easily get rid of the mess once it’s all been demolished
AND INTIMATE DISCOMFORT
EMSELLA helps patients to restore the control of their bladder, pelvic floor muscles and eliminate incontinence or any kind of intimate discomfort. It is a completely noninvasive option where patients remain fully clothed.
MUSCLE AND SCULPT YOUR BODY
EMSCULPT is designed to both build muscle and burn fat at the same time. It is based on high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy which causes thousands of powerful muscle contractions that are extremely important in improving the tone and strength of your muscles.
EMTONE is the first and only device that simultaneously delivers both thermal and mechanical energy to eliminate all main causes of cellulite and loose skin effectively and non-invasively. It is ideal for anyone looking for non-invasive cellulite reduction and overall improvement of skin appearance and physiological function.
“Mon, I don’t have the words to thank you for the care and confidence you have provided me the last 3 weeks during my Emsella treatment. After having 4 children I had lost a lot of my core strength and pelvic floor stability and had suffered embarrassing bouts of incontinence during mundane every day activities (walking, exercise, active play with my children). My quality of life had been impacted and I was suffering emotionally because of it.
Emsella and your care has incredibly restored my pelvic floor. It is now strong and stable again, but you’ve also healed the emotional issues and embarrassment I was suffering silently. I have a new lease on life because of your innovative decision to bring this amazing technology and health care to the GV. Thank you ever so much ♥”

Wrap it up
IT’S ONE THING FINDING THE PERFECT GIFT, IT’S ANOTHER THING MAKING IT LOOK NICE AND PRETTY.
For some people, gift wrapping can be a daunting task— but it doesn’t have to be.
If you follow these steps, you’ll be wrapping your presents like a pro and will be proud to place your gift under the tree this Christmas.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
• Scissors.
• Tape.
• Wrapping paper.
• Gift tags, ribbons or bows (optional)
WHAT TO DO:
1. Clear a large flat space, like a kitchen table, to wrap your presents.
2. Measure the right amount of paper for your gift. You should place your gift in the middle of the wrapping paper with enough on either side to wrap around and cover the bottom of the gift fully. Estimate the amount you will need to cover the top and bottom of the gift, and then cut.
3. Centre the gift in the paper and bring one side of the paper up and halfway across the top. Tape the paper to the top of the gift (if it’s safe to do so) to keep it in place.
4. Fold over the other side of the paper to the top and tape it in place. You can fold the edge inwards, so the seam isn’t visible to make it look cleaner, but it isn’t a requirement.
5. Starting on one end, fold down the top flap onto the side of the box. This should create two little wings at the side. Flatten those against the box and then fold the remaining paper up against the box before securing it with tape.
6. Repeat step 5 on the other end.
7. Add ribbons, gift tags or bows of your choice to really complete the look.
Congratulations! You’ve just wrapped your gift like a pro and can now proudly place it under the tree for all to see.
