PREPS 2023 Welcome

Lunchboxes are full, uniforms are squeaky clean and there are big, bright smiles as far as the eye can see. It can only mean one thing Preps have started the school year.

Children (and parents) were bundles of nervous and excited energy as they entered the gates of ‘big school’ for the first time. While they may seem like little steps, this is a giant leap in the students’ educational journey. Friends will be made, new skills and interests will be developed, and a whole world is ready to be explored all guaranteed to make memories that will last a lifetime.

None of which could be achieved without the immense support of teachers making classrooms into havens, memorising new students’ names, planning lessons. All with the intent of ensuring an easy transition for the brand-new Preps.

To immortalise this beginning of a new journey, at the start of every year our team gets to work. Behind the scenes calls are made to school receptionists, who help with booking a convenient time for us to take the class photos.

Once the schedule is complete, our brilliant photographer hits the road. Steve Huntley has snapped more than 30 schools in only a matter of weeks.

So, why is Preps 2023 such a big deal?

As someone in my mid-20s, I can proudly say my parents have held onto the keepsake from my first year at primary school.

Preps 2023 is a memento that will also be saved and enjoyed by students, parents and grandparents alike. And, hopefully, a memento they can look back on in 20 years, too.

To our new Preps, we wish you all the best in your future journeys.
