Saddle up, the Echuca Cup’s on the way
CROWDS ARE ALL SET TO RETURN FOR THE ECHUCA CUP AND IT’S SET TO BE A RIPPER THIS YEAR AT ECHUCA RACECOURSE ON MARCH 13.
“It’s our biggest race day of the year, it’s a day for us that has certainly grown over the last five years,” Echuca Racing Club general manager Garry Armstrong said. Gates open at 11 am for a big day of racing with a prize pool of $100,000. “It all becomes a fantastic day out at the races for those who are into the country cups,” Mr Armstrong said. Enjoy all country racing has to offer at one of Victoria’s premier race tracks located in the heartland of Victoria’s thoroughbred country in an intimate setting, with sweeping views of the course. “We work hard to maintain what we call a country causal sort of day. We have lots of people out on the spacious lawn areas, lots of umbrellas,” Mr Armstrong said. “A bit of live music between the races, a bit going on for the kids. We try and make it a fun day for families, (and) a good racing day for the keen race-goers.” Parking is free, and there is also a free shuttle bus service running from Echuca-Moama to the races and back. The Echuca Cup looks forward to welcoming all to Echuca.

Artistic Port Folio set to expand with Paint and Sip sessions
THINK YOU CAN BE THE NEXT JACKSON POLLOCK? OR THE NEXT MICHELANGELO? OR DO YOU JUST ENJOY A FUN NIGHT WITH YOUR FRIENDS?
The Port Folio Echuca is hosting Paint and Sip classes Friday and Saturday nights for those who want to try their hand at painting. “(It’s) a fun evening event, that allows people to get out and do something different where they bring their food and wine, paint something and have a bit of a giggle,” Port Folio owner Ali Farrell said. “A lot of people turn up thinking they can’t paint, and by the end of the night have created something to be really proud of. “It’s something that is more unique and a little bit more intimate,” Ms Farrell said. Classes cost $65 per person, which includes paint, brushes, the canvas and easel. “What we paint is quite random, one day it could be flamingos, another day it could be an abstract painting.” Adult classes are held on Wednesday nights for those who want to take their passion further and more seriously.
Paint and Sip classes are held from 7.30–10 pm, Friday and Saturday nights. The Port Folio Echuca is located at 603 High St, Echuca and bookings can be made via The
