WHAT IS HITT?
The High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT) program’s primary purpose is to enhance the operational tness levels and optimize combat readiness and resiliency for the active duty US Marine. This comprehensive strength and conditioning program takes into consideration the physical demands of operational related activities in order to optimize physical performance while in combat. By implementing the latest, cutting edge, training methods and fundamental scienti c principles, the HITT program focuses on enhancing the athleticism of today’s warrior athlete – The United States Marine.
HOW IS HITT DIFFERENT?
A tactical athlete’s physical tness should include endurance, speed, strength, agility, and power in order to be successful in specific Marine missions. Programs are designed and customized with regards to specificity in three phases: Pre-Deployment, Deployment and Post-Deployment.

The stronger and faster a Marine is, the more force they can produce. Elasticity is an equally important factor in improving performance. While having great power and strength is important, it is just as important to be elastic.

WORKOUTS ______________ 3 different workout program types with specificity toward a comprehensive approach designed to improve performance of job-speci fic combat readiness, balancing physical capacities of strength, power, speed, agility, flexibility, and endurance while reducing the likelihood of injuries and overtraining syndromes.
Pre-Deployment: WARRIOR HITT
HITT CENTERS HITT centers, out fitted with sprint lanes, synthetic turf for agility drills, and rubberized flooring to accommodate a variety of functional exercises, will play a key role in the implementation of the program. The HITT centers, unlike any fitness facility a Marine has ever used, will allow for optimal performance enhancement, combat readiness and physical resiliency.

As the worldwide authority on strength and conditioning, the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and TSAC Tactical Strength and Conditioning department supports that the HITT program methodology offers a comprehensive and balanced strength and conditioning approach specific to combat readiness and physical resiliency. The HITT program is aligned with the NSCA’s national standards for guidelines and provides research-based knowledge/curriculum along with practical applications to improve athletic performance specific to today’s warrior athlete.

The High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT) program, as a comprehensive, combat-speci fic strength and conditioning program, is essential to a Marine’s combat readiness and resiliency. Each component works in tandem to build superior speed, power, flexibility, and endurance while reducing the likelihood of injury. The 5 unified components include:

SAVORY BEAN AND SPINACH SOUP Makes: 6 servings
INGREDIENTS 3 14-ounce cans vegetable broth 1 15-ounce can tomato puree 1 15-ounce can small white beans or Great Northern beans, drained and rinsed 1/2 cup uncooked brown rice 1/2 cup finely chopped onion 1 teaspoon dried basil 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 2 garlic cloves, chopped 8 cups coarsely chopped fresh spinach or kale leaves Finely shredded Parmesan cheese DIRECTIONS 1. In a 3-1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker, combine vegetable broth, tomato puree, beans, rice, onion, basil, salt, pepper, and garlic. 2. Cover; cook on low-heat setting 5 to 7 hours or on high-heat setting 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours. 3. Just before serving, stir in spinach or kale and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
