KCE profit soars in Q2 SET-listed KCE Electronics Plc, a maker and exporter of printed circuit boards (PCBs), achieved a new record in sales and net profit in the second quarter thanks to rebounding demand in the automotive industry. In the three months to June, sales reached 2.82 billion baht, up by 24.6% yearon-year, for a net profit of 479 million, up by 143%. The results were the fourth consecutive quarterly high, and KCE remains confident that operating results will continue to be strong in the second half of this year, executive chairman Bancha Ongkosit said. He said the figures also represented quarter-on-quarter growth of 1.81% in sales and 9% in net profit. "These four quarters are the culmination of our efforts since resuming full production following 2011 floods," Mr Bancha said. The year-on-year sales increase was the result of continued growth in demand for PCBs, particularly in the automotive industry. The quarter-on-quarter growth of 1.9% in baht terms — 2.6% in US-dollar terms — was mild but in line with company expectations for a soft quarter due to the summer holiday season in Europe, Mr Bancha said. KCE shares closed yesterday on the SET at 41.50 baht, down 50 satang, in trade worth 80.6 million baht.
