THAI to begin using biofuel Thursday Thai Airways International will start using biofuels for commercial flights tomorrow, THAI chief executive officer Piyavasti Amranand said Wednesday. Mr Piyavasti said THAI will use a Boeing 777-200 for the inaugural flight using nonfossil fuels today and the aircraft will fly for about 20 minutes. The first commercial flight using biofuel will take off from Bangkok for Chiang Mai tomorrow, he said. "Flights using biofuels to ensure safety standards and I believe that in the next six to seven years biofuels will be used in more airports, paving the way for Thailand to produce more biofuel crops like jatropha and palm oil," said the former energy minister.
