Metalworking Machineries Thailand has 50K enterprises and 400K workers in this sector (July 2010); Machinery and parts rank among Thailand’s top 5 most imported goods, with their inbound shipments totaling US$12.57 Billion (2009); Japan has share of 24.6%, China at 21.3% and USA 9.4% (2009); Electrical machines and apparatus with individual functions are the leading product category, with US$9.78 million in imports (2009); Thailand’s has also a local machinery and parts suppliers sector: the country’s exports of these products have grown by 90% since 2004 to nearly US$8 billion;

Renewable Energies


Renewable Energies - Facts Thailand’s total power generation was 148,463 GWh (2007); Thailand’s net energy import up to US$ 19.5 billion (7.9% of GDP, 2007); Transportation (36.8%), manufacturing (36%), residential (14.8%) sectors consumed the most energy (2007); The Ministry of Energy has targeted consumption of alternative energy from 4.7% to 8% by 2011; Thai Government aims to reduce energy consumption by 9.1% in 2011; NGV: 105,175 vehicles and 228 NGV stations in Thailand (August 2008) NGV consumption quantity/day is 1,550 tons; Majority of NGV equipped imported are tax free; CDM: Industrialized countries are investing in greenhouse gas emission reduction in developing countries. CDM arrangement is under the Kyoto Protocol; Thailand is a great opportunity to invest in CDM
