You are marrying the love of your life! Congratulations! This is truly something amazing and beautiful for both of you! Your wedding day is only the beginning of your exciting love story as husband and wife and also a day that you want to remember for the rest of your life.
Hello! My name is Michelle Damas - Wedding and Portrait Photographer I am 35 years old, an artist, a mother to a baby girl, and a wife to my college sweet heart for almost 15 years. My passion is photography and I love retelling people’s stories through my camera. whether it is your wedding day or just a portrait session, I use a combination of natural and artistic posing along with creative photojournalistic approach to capture each moment the way you want to remember it. Do you want beautiful images that immediately take you back to those special moments between you and of the ones you love? Contact me and we can make that happen! I know you have many choices when it comes to photographers, so I am honored that you have taken an interest in my work.
Q & A What is your photography style? My style of photography is both photojournalism and fine art. I believe the best way to retell your love story is by photographing your wedding as it naturally unfolds. I like to combine my love for art and design with my documentary-style photography to capture those real emotions and moments from your wedding. The best images are the ones that bring back all of your favorite memories from your wedding day! What kind of equipment do you use? I exclusively use Canon professional digital SLR cameras and Canon lenses Do you carry backup equipment & do you have insurance? Yes, everything in my bag has a backup and yes I have insurance What is your payment schedule arrangement? 50% of your total booking fee is required at the time of contract signing. This retainer secures your date. Your outstanding balance is due one week before your wedding date. Do you copyright your images? Can I print reprint them anywhere and anytime? Yes and yes! The images are yours to reproduce for personal use. However, I do have exclusive rights to the images taken and would require written permissions if you decide to sell your wedding photos. Do you offer an online gallery? Yes! Your images are available on my online gallery for 60 days. When I can expect to view my photos online? 4-6 weeks
Q & A How long will it take to get one album? Depending on the album and season, it may take up to a month after you approve the final images/designs. Do you provide high resolution images? Yes. High resolution images are offered and delivered on a USB flash drive. Do you work with a second photographer? Yes. Some of my wedding packages include a second photographer. I only work with the same few photographers to keep my work consistent. Do you offer an engagement session? Yes! All of my wedding packages come with a complimentary engagement session How many photos do we get? It depends on your wedding itinerary and the activities you have planned. A typical 6 hour “traditional” wedding yield approximately 300-400 edited high resolution JPG images. Are you available for travel? Yes! Destination weddings are available. The typical cost for a destination wedding depends on the season and location. Do you charge sales tax? I don’t charge sales tax. Unfortunately the state of California charges sales tax and forces me to collect it. All California sales taxes (8.75%) are included in any wedding package.
Q & A Where are you located? I am a San Francisco/Bay Area based photographer. I photograph weddings all over the Bay Area as well as Santa Cruz. What else do you do besides photography? Tell us a little about yourself Although photographing people in love is my main passion in life, I do enjoy spending time with my family (my daughter, husband, and cat). I love watching movies and improvising meals in the kitchen. My background is in painting and drawing, but then I quickly fell in love with photography when I received my first real camera 12 years ago. I'm from Los Angeles but love the Bay Area just as much as I do my hometown. I also love cherry coke, cupcakes, and tacos – not necessarily in that order.
WHAT WE CATCH ON YOUR BIG DAY! We are literally with you from the early morning of your wedding day to the late evening hours of your reception shindig. Only Michelle Damas Photography is mostly capturing moments as they come and providing you with the right amount of direction and creatively as naturally as possible. That means a weight off your shoulders and lots of time to spend focusing on making sure your big day goes smoothly. Getting Ready We start the day by photographing you getting ready. Don't worry. This is all very much G-rated and we'll make sure to capture your pretty face only after you're all done up. Think detail shots of your fragrance du jour, you slipping into your beautiful shoes, a crowd of happy bridesmaids in their slouchy sweatpants and impeccable hair. The same is true for the men, too. We'll capture them fastening boutonnieres to their lapels, candids of dad giving the groom some sage advice and groomsmen laughing it up while the women get ready. Portraits When you book with Michelle Damas Photography, you'll also get formal and informal portrait shots. That includes those gorgeous bridal portraits, handsome pics of the groom, group shots of the entire bridal party and all the family portrait shots you could ever want. We like to do a mix of both casual and traditional for these shots. These shots can happen before or after the ceremony. It just depends on what kind of schedule you plan on having that day.
WHAT WE CATCH ON YOUR BIG DAY! Ceremony and Reception Of course, we also document your entire wedding ceremony and reception, complete with all those big -- and small -- moments that must be caught on film. That includes walking down the aisle, the big kiss, the officiant speaking, musicians playing, and family and friends listening/watching. We'll also capture all those fun and heartfelt moments at your reception, from tearful and hilarious toasts to some mad dancing skills to cake cutting and beyond. Details Rest assured we'll capture all those details you planned, as well. You spent good money -- and time -- planning your special day;; we're here to make sure it's documented beautifully. We'll photograph the tiniest details on your wedding favors, the sugary flower ornaments on your cake, the lanterns hanging in the trees and anything else you thoughtfully included. Extras Depending on the package you choose, we'll also be there for other moments leading up to your wedding day, including the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, bachelorette and bachelor parties and even your wedding or bridal shower. Or if you plan on having a first look before the wedding, we will definitely be there to capture that moment!

SHOW US THE LOVE! First and foremost, you should have an engagement session done because it's fun. You get to pamper yourself and dress up and -- here's the best part -- snuggle and kiss your best friend for a good hour or two. The main reason why I do engagement sessions is to build rapport with my couples. It’s important that we The get to know each other before your wedding so that you feel comfortable and relaxed. There isn’t a lot of time before your wedding day to learn about each other so that’s why engagement sessions are a must! I want to be able to give you the best experience possible. This is also a chance to get some nice photos of you as a couple in non- wedding gear.
You can also use the images from their engagement shoot for save the dates, wedding invitations and even
thank
post-wedding!

SHOULD YOU HAVE A FIRST LOOK?
SHOULD YOU DO A FIRST LOOK? What’s a First Look? A first look is when the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony and enjoy a moment with each other without their guests. How is a first look done? Although there are many ways you Although the can do a first look, the groom typi- cally waits for his bride to approach him at a mutually agreed upon pri- vate location. The bride would sur- prise him with either a tap on the shoulder or say his name for him to turn around. Sometimes they would both face each other with their eyes closed and do the big reveal that way too. Why have one? Why do I recommend having a first look? Mostly because weddings go by so quickly and this is one special time the couple can slow down and be alone together. Other couples like to have their moment they first see each other be private and not in front of all of their friends and family fr at the ceremony.
SHOULD YOU DO A FIRST LOOK? Most importantly, this private moment alone really sets the tone for the rest of the day, calms nerves, and gives the couple a chance to connect before the moment they are standing at the altar together.
The first look isn't for everyone, especially if you had your heart set on seeing each other at the ceremony. But it might be something to consider if you have more flexibility with your schedule and would like to have that quiet moment together.
ABOUT YOU! QUESTIONNAIRE
Yes! I want to know more about you! Unlike most vendors at your wedding, I will be spending practically all day with you. From start to finish I will be there every step of the way. So it’s essential that you are comfortable with me and that I know a little bit about you! Building relationships with my couples is just as important as taking photos on your wedding day.
Hi there! I want to thank you again for choosing me to shoot your wedding. I am so happy to be apart of this exciting time for you and your fiance. Because we don't have that much face to face time to really get to know each other, I came up with a list of personal questions. It is important I get to know a little more about you guys, so I can deliver the best possible experience for both of you. I would be happy to share information about myself, just ask! Thanks so much! 1. When do you celebrate your dating anniversary? 2. When did you get engaged? 3. How did he propose? I’d love to hear the details!! 4. What does your perfect date night look like? 5. What are your perfect beverages? 6. What detail are you most excited about on your wedding day? 7. What are your favorite movies? 8. Bride, what does the perfect day out with the girls look like? 9. Groom, what does the perfect day out with guys look like? 10. Describe yourselves as a couple. 11. When it comes to photography, are you nervous to be in front of the camera? Shy? Excited? 12.
