Local Food & Drink

Eat like a local! The best place to meet some of our producers is at one of our four farmers’ markets. Pick up freshly picked garden bounty, frozen meat, homemade baking, hand-picked berries, yummy chocolates, or fresh honey.

U-Picks open in early spring for asparagus, carrying through to June and July for strawberries, saskatoons and haskaps, and ending in August for garlic and other garden vegetables.

Wash it all down with a selection of ciders from Journey North Cider Co., beer and liquor from Cold Lake Brewing & Distilling, or a Pilsner from Beaver River Brew Co. For coffee aficionados try Elevate Coffee Roasters.

The Northeast Alberta Food Marketers Association lists a wide variety of producers from across the northeast at www.nafma.ca if you want to stock the shelves all year.

The brewery frequently rotates 23 taps and has many other ready-to-drink beverages and cocktails on hand. If you’re in a hurry, grab a growler or cans to go. Their spirits are also distilled in house, bottled by hand, and capped with an authentic hand-crafted wax seal.
