Culture of Innovation Catalyst John’s driving passion is the intersection between innovation and culture. He believes that innovation is the crucible that unlocks company growth AND human potential. John brings an unusual and diverse perspective to individual achievement and organizational potential. His first career consisted of 12 years as an Olympic athlete, representing the U.S. in 10 world championships and winning a silver medal in the Winter Olympics. After “retirement,” John moved into strategy consulting during the heady dot-com era, helping clients like Goldman Sachs, AOL/Time Warner and Enron innovate new business models. John then joined senior ranks of a large wireless company, serving as the point man for an enterprisewide effort to drive innovation and transform the customer experience. This multiyear project, which helped the wireless company earn the No. 1 ranking by Consumer Reports, became as much a cultural transformation as it was a customer experience overhaul. As a result of this experience, unlocking human potential in service of driving growth has become John’s “why” and led to his current role, helping organizations to develop a culture of innovation. John holds degrees from Stanford University and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
