Your kerbside recycling supports Northern Ireland’s circular economy

Our circular economy helps keep resources in use for as long as possible before they are disposed of.

Recycling things such as glass, plastic, foil, tins, cans, paper, cardboard and food waste means they can be re-purposed for use instead of going to landfill.

In Northern Ireland, we have local businesses turning these materials back into new products, which we can find in our shops.

Supporting the circular economy means:

• Waste is diverted from landfill, saving ratepayer money and protecting the environment

• Local businesses (and local jobs) are supported

• More of our recycling can remain in the country

• We reduce our carbon footprint.
