Carrickfergus Town Centre Strategy will not operate in isolation but within a range of Northern Ireland, Council and Carrickfergus focused strategies and plans.
A range of local, regional, and national strategies and policies have been examined to establish the context within which the Carrickfergus Town Centre Strategy 2020-2030 is shaped, as set out below:

The strategic context is appended. For the purposes of the main body of the Town Centre Strategy the Carrickfergus Town Centre Strategy for the 2020-2030 time frame has been set in context of the hierarchy of strategies for Council and Carrickfergus; this is both practical and appropriate as the leadership of the delivery of the strategy will be provided by the Council. The diagram below shows where the Town Centre Strategy relates to local strategies, plans and priorities:
