INTRODUCTION

We are delighted to present the first annual update for the ‘Housing Investment Plan 2019-2023’ (HIP). Launched in 2019 the HIP is aligned to the outcomes of each Community Plan to show how our work supports the work of the council. We look forward to continuing to contribute to shaping the future of housing in each council with our Community Planning partners. This first annual update should be read in conjunction with Mid and East Antrim Housing Investment Plan 2019-23 and will:

• Provide updates on Strategy progress where available (a full list of current strategies is available in the HIP); • Report on new and upcoming strategies and initiatives including our COVID-19 response; • Provide a local area update; and • Update on progress in 2019/20 against the four outcomes contained within the HIP.

When writing our HIP we have taken account of the draft Programme for Government; Northern Ireland Housing Strategy; Regional Development Strategy; Sustainable Development Strategy for Northern Ireland; Planning Reform; Reform of Local Government; and the Social Housing Reform Programme.
