Take a stroll
Kia ora koutou, We have recently opened the new boardwalk and shoreline terracing at our central city lakefront in Rotorua, and it is proving hugely popular with our community. The lakefront redevelopment is really starting to take shape, and I’m sure it will become a popular drawcard for visitors as well, providing a world-class waterfront experience for all. We’re expecting further stages to be completed and open by the end of this year, in time for summer holidays. During winter our city has been busy hosting conferences, sports events, and school holiday visitors, providing a welcome boost for our economy. At council, we are progressing with the work set out in our 2021-31 Long-term Plan which will continue our progress towards Rotorua district’s Vision 2030 goals. We’re working in partnership with others to create well
connected, supported, resilient communities and address key challenges like housing and climate change. As always, leadership and partnerships remain key to achieving our shared goals and aspirations for Rotorua to keep our district moving forward. We’ve been bold and set ourselves some ambitious targets to achieve and we have some great people on board to help us get there. Together, tatau tatau, we can – and do – make a difference. Kia kaha,
Steve Chadwick
