A big “thanks” to all the buyers, sellers, family, and friends who made Kissimmee2011 such a huge success! With 1500 vehicles offered, $40M in sales, a near 80% sell through rate, plus a huge “fun factor” for those in attendance and watching on TV, the growth of Mecum’s Florida event over the past three years has been absolutely phenomenal. And speaking of growth, the 2010 numbers are now in … and Mecum offered more than TWICE the number of collector vehicles (6,140) at auction in 2010 than its nearest competitor. Folks, this type of growth just doesn’t occur unless a Company is serving its customers well ... and the Mecum Team is all about putting our Customers first, whether that is measured by low commissions, friendly customer service, or entertaining television. And we certainly plan on continuing to offer you that same commitment with an even higher level of service in 2011. As we finish preparing for Kansas City (Bartle Hall) and Gone Farmin’ (Walworth WI), enjoy this newsletter packed with select consignments from both auctions, and then its on to “The World’s Largest Collector Car Auction” in May in Indianapolis. Join us, as Mecum marches forward into Spring! See you there!

After a successful auction in Kissimmee, Mecum’s well-oiled machine prepares for two unique events in March; the all-indoor Spring Kansas City Auction and our inaugural Spring Tractor Auction. Mecum returns to the Kansas City Convention Center in Bartle Hall March 11-12, playing host to nearly 500 vehicles at one of the fastest growing allindoor auction events in the country. In 2010, Mecum sold over 750 cars for $15.6 Million in Kansas City, proving that the City of Fountains welcomes all Collector Cars.

A 1965 Big Block Corvette Convertible with Bloomington Gold Benchmark Certification will lead the great selection of Muscle Cars, Corvettes, Classics, and Street Rods at the Spring kick off event as Mecum continues to grow by leaps and bounds in Kansas City. Then just two weeks later on March 26, Mecum’s Tractor Division, Gone Farmin’, will host its inaugural Spring Tractor Auction, which will be the first of three Gone Farmin’ events in 2011.

The centerpiece of Mecum’s Spring Tractor Auction will be the Tom Geyman Vintage Tractor Collection. Offered at No Reserve, this collection of blue chip investments reflects Tom’s remarkable passion for restoring world-class tractors. General admission for Spring Gone Farmin’ is free, so all hobbyists, collectors, admirers and spectators are encouraged to attend and bring their families to Walworth, Wisconsin. In the following pages, you’ll find select vehicles to be offered at Kansas City as well as the incredible group of 22 tractors to be offered at No Reserve at the Tractor Auction. So, be sure Mecum is in your plans for March, as this is certainly a month not to miss. M

MECUM101 Represent Your Car Like a Pro Once you have a position assigned for your car with Mecum, a consignment packet is mailed to you for completion. Inside the packet are consignment guidelines and Mecum’s auction listing contract. This contract is the most important item in the packet because the information provided on it is the key to how your car will be represented to potential buyers. It is essential for the consignor to supply accurate information for the Year, Make, Model, Body Style, Engine and Transmission. This information is the foundation of your listing and will be used in print promotional materials such as catalogs, brochures, green sheets, our web site and many other promotional venues. In addition to the base information, there are 19 lines available for you to “sell” your car. The area is provided to list your car’s options, ownership

history, restoration details, awards and key points. This detailed information will be published on the Mecum website, listed on the card displayed on your cars windshield at the auction, and select points are announced by the auctioneers. It is best to use bullet points for easy reading. In addition to the listing agreement, we need high resolution photos of your car. A picture is truly worth a thousand words in this instance. A great description of a car will go far, but pictures help bidders form a favorable opinion about your car before the auction. Your packet will even include helpful photo hints to get the best photos of your car. Each of these elements is important to insure you have the best opportunity to sell your car. Research shows us that cars well publicized prior to the auction sell at a higher rate than cars that are not. M

(SIMULATED CONTRACT)

MEET THE MECUM TEAM TOM HALL started working for Mecum Auctions when our Spring Classic event moved to Indianapolis in 2008. Tom’s tireless work ethic and attention to detail are valuable assets in his position as Mecum’s Display Manager/Driver Liason. A “gearhead” at heart, Tom is known to carry a few tools with him to ensure the staging process runs smoothly. Working the auctions has been rewarding for Tom, who mentioned, “I value all the new friendships that I have established with the Mecum Team. I always look forward seeing everyone at each auction venue.” M

KATHY HICKEY loves seeing the joy in a winning bidder’s face when the gavel hits the podium and the auctioneer declares the car “SOLD!” As a bidder’s assistant, helping someone purchase the car of their dreams has been her passion since the Mecum Fall Premier in St. Charles five years ago. When asked about the future of the auction house, Kathy told us, “I see the future of Mecum Auctions growing and improving with every auction because Dana is such a wonderful employer. We have evolved into a second family and I feel truly privileged to be part of this great crew.” M

RHONDA SIHOCKY helps hold down the Mecum headquarters while the rest of the team takes care of business at the auction site. As a vital role player in the Mecum consignment department, Rhonda reviews and processes the information provided to us by our consignors. Rhonda’s favorite aspect of working for the auction company is watching Dana Mecum, whose knowledge, insights, humor and witticisms make every day different in the office. “I enjoy watching Mecum grow as it becomes a household name across the country.” M
