Live Exemplification Resumes in Kingston
By: District Deputy 20, David Caracciolo
Over the last 18 months, Frontenac Council 728 has recruited over 15 new members but, for various reasons we need not cover here, they were not exemplified.
Enter new Grand Knight Steve Henderson and new Financial Secretary Ian Moore. In response to a request from Chaplain Fr. Shawn Hughes last fall, these leaders had helped start several new initiatives including Men's Ministry faith sharing and a homeless shelter. They also sought to address the backlog of potential members.
GK Steve reached out to Council 9652 who offered their degree team for a live Exemplification of Charity, Unity and Fraternity. This was held on Sunday, March 26 at St Mary's Cathedral in Kingston for a group of 16 new members. Also, in attendance for the 60-minute ceremony were, two priests, 15 family members and 10 other Knights. Of note was the fact that ten of the new members are university students and two of the new members agreed to serve on the council’s executive immediately after the exemplification.
Frontenac Council members wish to thank the Newman House and the Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO) for promoting the Knights to their members who subsequently joined our Order.
