And each year the hubbub of conversation at the Cardiff Property Awards attests to the vibrancy of this sector – and the amount of business that is done here, partnerships that are forged and the sheer interconnectedness of this sector. Today sees the largest gathering of property companies and professional services in Cardiff since the autumn of 2019. Thank you for your support, whether attendee, finalist or sponsor. Property matters. And it matters more in Cardiff than in most other places. It matters professionally and personally – how we live, how we work and experience Cardiff daily, and how exactly we navigate the city from our base. It matters practically – where our companies are based, what retail and office space there is, how the city houses and encourages clever expanding enterprises and how working from home affects all. And it matters aesthetically. We are all the beneficiaries of extraordinary creativity that has bequeathed a visual legacy that enriches all our lives, daily. ANDREA BYRNE JOURNALIST

ndrea Byrne is one of the faces of ITV news. She anchors the BAFTA awardwinning news programme Wales at Six and the ITV weekend news. She presents Wales’ flagship current affairs programme Wales This Week, and the series Crime Files which reveals the evidence in Wales’ worst criminal cases. Andrea is an Ambassador for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, a Patron for Kidney Wales and a supporter of dyslexia charity Tomorrow’s Generation. Alongside her charitable work, she is an experienced corporate host, writer and voice-over artist.

COVID-19 GUIDANCE FOR THE AWARDS

e would like to reassure everyone that we are very mindful of our duty of care to all attendees, participants and those working at the Awards. We are following current government guidelines for delivering events very closely. Please read these points. This advice is also on the Cardiff Property Awards website and has been supplied to attendees. Many thanks, Cardiff Property Awards team All attendees will be asked to show proof of one of the following on arrival at the Awards:

• Double vaccination via COVID Pass (NHS site) or vaccination card • Negative test result taken in the last 24 hours (NHS site or text message confirmation) • If you are unable to provide either of these, you will be offered a lateral flow test and entry will be permitted on sight of a negative result.

The venue has been fully risk assessed and attendee numbers have been limited to allow for a safe capacity.

All attendees are encouraged to take a Lateral Flow Test within 24 hours of when you are due to arrive at the Awards, and register the result with NHS.

If you are experiencing Covid symptoms, or in the last two weeks have been in contact with anyone with Covid symptoms, please ensure you get a PCR test and if the result is positive follow the Welsh Government’s stay at home guidance.

There will be multiple hand sanitising stations throughout the venue. Please remember to regularly clean your hands throughout.

Facemasks generally: these are not obligatory but please feel free to wear one if you are more comfortable, and please respect those who choose to wear one.

Facemasks specifically: we recommend that you wear a facemask in areas such as the reception and in the toilets.

All event spaces including tables will be open to attendees throughout the day from 12pm and we encourage guests to take seats as early as possible. To help facilitate that, please familiarise yourself with where your table is and also let your teams and guests know. The table plan will be emailed to attendees no later than 24 hours before the Awards.

Communal areas are being cleaned regularly during the day, including the toilets.

Bar and all food preparation adheres to government hospitality guidelines.

We recommend that drinks orders can be made from your seat to reduce crowding at the bar.

The event is CASHLESS so please bring card payment for drinks.

The microphones are wiped down after use each time, so are safe for use by Sponsors and Winners. As a general point – please be respectful and kind to all event attendees.

THE JUDGES NOTE: our Judges were recused from assessing any category where they had a direct personal interest in a Finalist.

CHARLOT TE WHITEHEAD LEGAL DIRECTOR, BLAKE MORGAN

Charlotte joined Blake Morgan in 2021 and has significant expertise in advising on a variety of real estate matters including acquisitions and disposals, leases, real estate financing and development. She is also an active member of the South Wales branch of Women in Property, having been a committee member for five years.

GARY CARVER DIRECTOR OF OFFICE AGENCY, SAVILLS

Gary has over 24 years’ experience of the Cardiff and South Wales office market. During this time, Gary has built up a strong reputation as a market leader, dealing with business space agency and development. Savills Cardiff office opened its doors in 2007 and has quickly become a key adviser in the Welsh property market with a wider range of services than any other firm.

SARAH EVANS GENERAL MANAGER, SERAPH GROUP

Sarah is the general manager for the Seraph Group of 60+ employees, including Seraph Property Management, James Douglas Sales & Lettings, and Nuttall Parker Estate Agents. Sarah has 17 years’ experience in the property industry and is at the forefront of strategy, business change and acquisitions for the group, which deals with residential letting and property management, block management, commercial management as well as estate agency.

SHERI HALL HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING, CASTLEOAK

Sheri’s career has taken her from Golley Slater, one of Wales’s leading marketing agencies, to Confused.com, one of the big-four comparison sites, and now to Castleoak, a specialist developer for care and social housing, where she headed up the marketing department. She is also the marketing lead for CMI Wales and sits on the CIPR Cymru committee. She is currently studying an MBA at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

WYN WILLIAMS PARTNER AND HEAD OF RESIDENTIAL CONVEYANCING, HARDING EVANS

Wyn Williams joined Harding Evans in 2003, rising quickly through the ranks to become the youngest ever Equity Partner (at just 37) in 2016. As partner and head of the Residential Conveyancing team, Wyn has experience in a range of property matters including sales, purchases, re-mortgages, agricultural property and auction sales.
