ood evening and welcome to the sixth annual Exeter Living Awards! And an especially jubilant and fist-pumping congratulations to our finalists. We know – and our judges were bowled over by – how tirelessly you’ve worked throughout the last year. How you’ve had to scrap your annual business plan, magic up a new (and ever-changing) one; some of you will have closed, opened, closed, opened, worked from the kitchen table while home-schooling your kids and yet STILL managed to make your business prosper. Your tenacity and creativity isn’t just impressive; it’s what makes Exeter the thriving city that it is and we salute each and every one of you. A huge thanks to our impressive panel of judges who have had the unenviable task of choosing the winners, and to our wonderful sponsors for supporting this unique celebration of the city. We’d also like to thank all who have supported these Awards tonight, from nominating companies to sponsors and partners and all of you here. Tonight will no doubt have all the hallmarks of a typical Exeter Living Awards ceremony, namely irrepressible celebration and fun, feel-good moments and a healthy sprinkling of glamour. But this year is different. We’re not just celebrating the individual award-winners tonight – we are celebrating all of us, friends and colleagues from across the city, being in the same room. We’re celebrating how Exeter’s community has come together, supported each other; how kindness has prevailed. Which just leaves me to say, thank you so much for joining us and here’s to a glorious and happy evening. e would like to reassure everyone that we are very mindful of our duty of care to all attendees, participants and those working at the Awards. We are following current government guidelines for delivering events very closely. Please read these points below. This advice is also on the Exeter Living Awards site and has been supplied to attendees. Many thanks, The Exeter Living Team

HEALTH & SAFETY

If you are experiencing Covid symptoms, or in the last two weeks have been in contact with anyone with Covid symptoms, we politely request that you don’t attend. You should get a PCR test and follow the UK Govt’s stay at home guidance.

There will be multiple hand sanitising stations throughout the venue. Please remember to regularly clean your hands throughout.

Facemasks generally: these are not obligatory but please feel free to wear one if you are more comfortable, and please respect those who choose to wear one.

Facemasks specifically: we recommend that you wear a facemask in areas such as the Reception and in the Toilets.

All event spaces including tables will be open to attendees throughout the evening from 6.30pm and we encourage guests to take seats as early as possible. To help facilitate that, please familiarise yourself with where your table is and also let your teams and guests know. The Table Plan will be on the emailed to attendees no later than 24 hours before the Awards.

We want attendees at the Awards to be safe and feel reassured by the sensible approach which is being taken before and during the event

We want everyone to have fun and celebrate coming together once more: a reunion – and in safe way

The venue has been fully risk assessed and attendee numbers have been limited to allow for a safe capacity.

All attendees have been encouraged to take a Lateral Flow Test within 24 hours of when they were due to arrive at the Awards, and to register the result with the NHS.

Communal areas are being cleaned regularly during the evening, including the toilets
