t has been said of Exeter that it’s a city that likes to hide its light under a bushel; there may be some truth in that. Reading through the panoply of nominations this year was like discovering one gem after another. The drive, creativity and perseverance – often in the face of adversity – filled us with such admiration for these teams and got us thinking, why haven’t they been making a louder noise about how brilliant they are? Well, that’s what tonight is about. That’s what we get to do, through our awards. Tonight is a celebration of all that is fantastic about Exeter; it’s our chance to sing from the rooftops about your successes. Collectively, you make Exeter the thriving and buoyant community that it is. To all our finalists, a huge congratulations from all of us. We have absolutely loved having so many different individuals and organisations involved in our awards this year. A big, hearty thanks to everyone who has played a part, especially our independent panel of judges who’ve had the unenviable task of singling out our 2022 winners, rather you than us; and we also thank our amazing sponsors for the phenomenal ongoing support. For those of you who are first-timers, tonight we guarantee: a healthy sprinkling of uberglam moments (grab your buddies and strike a pose in our giant cover photo booth), tear-jerking speeches (have a tissue in that clutch bag), and, judging from last year, dance moves that need to be seen to be believed (we’ll see you at Pink Moon later for the after party). HEALTH & SAFETY

•W e want attendees at the Awards to be safe and feel reassured by the sensible approach which is being taken before and during the event. • All attendees have been encouraged to take a Lateral Flow Test within 24 hours of when they were due to arrive at the Awards, and to register the result with the NHS. • If you are experiencing Covid symptoms, or in the last two weeks have been in contact with anyone with Covid symptoms, we politely request that you don’t attend. • There will be multiple hand sanitising stations throughout the venue. Please remember to regularly clean your hands throughout.

• Facemasks generally: these are not obligatory but please feel free to wear one if you are more comfortable, and please respect those who choose to wear one. • All event spaces including tables will be open to attendees throughout the evening from 6.30pm and we encourage guests to take seats as early as possible. To help facilitate that, please familiarise yourself with where your table is and also let your teams and guests know. The table plan will be on the email to attendees no later than 24 hours before the Awards. • Communal areas are being cleaned regularly during the evening, including the toilets. • Bar and all food preparation adheres to hospitality government guidelines. • We recommend that drinks orders be made from your seat to reduce crowding at the bar. • The event is CASHLESS so please bring card payment for drinks. • The microphones are wiped down after use each time, so are safe for use by Sponsors and Winners. As a general point – please be respectful and kind to all event attendees.

CAMERON HODDER MIH Managing director, Dirty Martini Cameron is the managing director of Dirty Martini, a creative marketing agency based in Exeter. He launched the company in 2018 and since then he’s been on a mission to build a forward-thinking, creative agency that puts people at the heart of everything it does. Cameron has grown the company organically into a recognised digital agency with a team of eight.

CHANTELLE ZNIDERIC Personal stylist Chantelle is an experienced award-winning personal stylist who provides exceptional styling, shopping, and corporate branding services to high profile clients, politicians, and celebrities. Her raison d’être is to inspire her clients to love the clothes they wear and to recognise the need for sustainability in fashion.

CHARLOTTE MCGREGOR Partner, Wollens Charlotte McGregor is a partner at Wollens Solicitors with over 15 years’ experience in property. Based in their Exeter office, Charlotte’s specialism is in estate administration with a focus on high value and complex estates, acting for clients across the UK. Charlotte is also a director of the Exeter Chamber, enabling her to support, champion and engage with the local business community.

strategy across Exeter and the wider South West Peninsula. Chris is also responsible for running student entrepreneurship activities, business support and the innovation facilities at Exeter Innovation Centre and the Science Park Centre.

LAURA SEAWARD Senior manager, Bishop Fleming Laura was listed in the 35 Devon business people under 35 to watch in 2018 and was treasurer for Exeter Chamber of Commerce for four years until 2021. She is a champion for local businesses and lives in the city with her husband and two children. Laura is also a chartered accountant working closely with businesses throughout the South West.

NIKKI FAIRCLOUGH Marketing and customer experience manager, Guildhall Shopping Centre and Board Member, InExeter Nikki is the marketing and customer experience manager at the Guildhall Shopping Centre and Board Member for InExeter. She is passionate about indie businesses in her city, with a focus on community engagement and creating spaces for the public to enjoy. Originally hailing from South Africa, Nikki has been in the UK for 17 years and loves it.

TOM BEDFORD Associate director, Savills Exeter A former professional rugby player, Tom has since successfully transitioned into a career in residential property. Tom now works for Savills, a global real estate services provider, and specialises in the sale of country homes and townhouses throughout Devon and West Somerset. Having grown up in mid Devon and now living in the Exe Valley, he knows just how good Devon really is.
