Our Facilitation P hilosophy Transformative Narrative We are passionate about the transformative power of stories, not just on people but on organisations and even society. The stories we tell ourselves and others are the sole source of all conflicts, bias, prejudice and assumptions. But they are also the driving force behind creativity, imagination, change and engagement. In all our facilitation work, we seek to create meetings and events that accept human complexity, cynicism and individuality. We promote trust, risk taking and curiosity and encourage people to acknowledge their fears and disappointments, and yet still dream of a best possible future. Through Visual Minutes and changing the narrative, an effortless transformation takes place as people begin to see themselves as already on their way there.

Whether for large, small or medium sized groups, we are unique as we integrate Visual Minutes into all of our facilitation. So for all our booked facilitated sessions, artist draw what you say in real time to create an interactive mural of your meeting or event, this is used as a point of reference by the facilitator to guide and stimulate the conversation.
Because no two meetings are the same, we work with you and for you, to meet your specific needs. We are particularly interested in working with organisations that are looking for something out of the ordinary.

Facilitation Services at CC Facilitation of Workshops and Team Meetings: CreativeConnection do not set the directions and outcomes for an event or meeting. Our facilitation team utilise the concept of Transformative Narrative as the core basis for finding the direction and success of each workshop. We work with the people in the room and help them work together to set the direction and outcomes they need to achieve.
LEAN and Process Facilitation: Is the process of reviewing current business environments and situations with the aim of refining them to be more productive and more cost efficient. This process is not designed to facilitate staff redundancies but rather to revitalise existing staff and create time and space for greater productivity and creativity by eliminating bottlenecks and obstructions within the workflow. The 4 stage LEAN process is simple: • L istening: Learning about current company systems as well as processes and analysis of current staff skills and efficiency levels. No one knows your processes better than your staff. They know what feels like repetition or needless red tape. • E ngaging: We feel that by engaging staff from the start of the process it avoids conflict and evokes buy in. Utilising staff input is crucial in order to avoid a ‘culture of fear’. Changes made must come from within and be owned by the front line staff. Everyone’s opinion is valid. • A nalysis: After workshops have been conducted the information collected and analysed a proposal of implementation is presented. • N ew Process: Our team work to help implement the ‘New’ leaner more efficient process leaving your organisation fitter, stronger and ready to grow.
Rich Picture Development: • R ich Pictures: Rich pictures are similar to our Visual Minutes work, but are not created live and can be planned, making them more polished and in-depth. These are created as part of a workshop in which a regular Visual Minute’s mural is created, we use this as a draft and work with you to refine and reorganise the image. We then create rough sketches and samples which you are able to feedback on before the final polished image is created.
• R ich Picture Projects: We can also facilitate a more in-depth Rich Picture project. Working with individual groups and stakeholders within an organisation to map out a new process / system or vision.
Express Sessions:
Event Facilitation:
‘A new understanding in 2 hours or less...’ Express Sessions are designed to streamline Executive and Board Room discussion and decision making and can cover any topic. Leading productive discussion, we listen to you, and draw what you say in real time. Themes are traced, links made, narrative threads untangled and colour coded. You are able to see your train of thought as it evolves and see your ideas and opinions from another point of view. As a result you can structure your thoughts, reach a consensus and make better and faster decisions. Each session is completed within 2 hours.
The CC facilitation team have vast experience in working in the process of facilitating small, medium and large scale events. We work with you to develop an event plan / strategy. Providing an in-depth event proposal of options with full costing and agenda. And as always we include our integrated, Visual Minute service and provide a portable mural and or high resolution photographs of the mural. On request we can also provide an event facilitation review notifying you of key outcomes.
• D ocument Rich Pictures: We can also create rich pictures from strategy documents or research findings. The process of content analysis and refinement of key elements creates a very strong communication and referencing tool.

Jenny is a powerful presence in any room. For nearly four decades, Jennifer La Trobe has been asking questions from unusual angles. She has acted as a consultant, a facilitator, an educator and a trainer for private, nonprofit and public sector organisations in Canada, the US, Europe and Asia. Jennifer has a benevolent skepticism about the alignment between script and performance. She is called upon to help groups and leaders achieve organisational objectives with insightful coaching, thoughtful strategies, structures and stories. Her early training as a choreologist gave her a keen eye for noticing patterns in human expression, nonverbal communication, context and relationship. Following an early passion for how people can work together more effectively, she undertook intensive training in learning, group dynamics and discussion methods, and spent the first 12 years of her career enabling communities to improve their economies and implement public health projects in Scotland, India, Korea, the United States and the Philippines.
At CC we also offer inspirational speakers with a difference. Speakers who are creators and have merged their creative skills to help understand the corporate day to day. Jessica Simpson is a Marketer with a wealth of experience in teaching organisations how to improve their marketing performance and skills. Popular talks include ‘Successful business means everyone’s a marketer’ and ‘Digital Power and how to use it’ as well as ‘Working Mothers – A Business Force’ and ‘Flexibility the key to Employee Happiness’. I solde Godfrey is a performance artist who specialises in narrative pieces. Her talk is entitled “thinking deeper”.
Dann Casswell is one of the Directors of CC. Prior to working for CC, he worked for the BBC, writing and producing content and managing key projects for BBC Outreach as well as supporting the Southwest’s BBC Children in Need team.
Case Studies Releasing Time to Care An initiative out of the NHS which is aimed at teaching frontline staff about continuous improvement. As part of process support was given to staff with education and facilitation of workshops. Staff learned how to recognise issues in their work environment, collect real time data, and implement solutions. As a result within six months the client saw an increase in patient and staff satisfaction survey scores.
Emergency room redesign, Canada ER The objective of this project was to decrease the time between patient arrival at ER (A&E) and the time they see a physician. The team worked with the ER staff in a series of 3 day Rapid Process Improvement Workshops where the staff identified issues from a patient perspective and implemented changes within the department. Currently this is one of the most efficient ER run service with other ER departments following suit.
bestPATH A strategic initiative aimed at improving Integrated Care. bestPATH brought together patients, hospital staff, community staff and general practitioners to map out the patient journey and identify areas for improvement.
