2020 BEST WARRIOR Competition

THE TEXAS MILITARY DEPARTMENT RECENTLY ANNOUNCED THE WINNERS of the 2020 Best Warrior Competition that brings together Soldiers and Airmen from the Texas National Guard and our state partnership program countries of the Czech Republic and the Republic of Chile. The Soldiers and Airmen who competed are considered the “best of the best” of their respective units.

Service members gather for a demanding multi-day competition that tests their tactical skills, endurance and technical expertise through scored events such as a tactical road march, obstacle course, swim test and physical fitness test, just to name a few.

Traditionally, winners are named and honored at a banquet for all participants, however, this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to gather this previous spring for the celebration. Like so many other events around the world, we recently honored our winners virtually. H

SGT Haden Roach and SPC Jacob Arndt were selected to represent the Texas National Guard in the National Guard Best Warrior 2020 Competition held in September at Camp Shelby, Mississippi. Although they did not win the competition, they proudly represented Texas Soldiers and Airmen.
