Festival 101 Welcome to the 2015 Phoenix Film Festival, one of MovieMaker Magazine’s “Coolest Film Festivals” in the world! But what exactly does that mean? We’ve got movies that are hard to find anywhere else!
All of the movies at the Phoenix Film Festival are at least Valley-wide if not American or World premieres, with the occasional retrospective or classic film thrown in for good measure. There’s an abundance of films including narrative features, documentary features, short films, foreign films, and more – all there for you to watch over the duration of the festival. Basically, all you need to do is relax, eat some popcorn, and enjoy the movies!
We’ve got this handy dandy program!
All of the films screening at the festival are covered in this program and on our Festival’s website (phoenixfilmfestival.com). Take a look at the screening schedule in the middle of the program to see when your favorite film is playing. And don’t forget to pay attention to our advertisers. Their support helps make our Festival even cooler!
We’ve got filmmakers! (and they want to talk with you)
Most of our screenings have the filmmakers in attendance and the only thing they love more then making films is talking! They talk before the films, they talk after the films in Q&A sessions, they talk during the seminars and workshops, and they talk during the parties. Luckily, they won’t talk during the movies. Don’t be afraid of them, they don’t bite! Just introduce yourself and start talking!
We’ve got waiting in line for your film down to a science!
We understand. Waiting in line for anything isn’t cool, but believe it or not, we have festival-goers who say waiting in line is one of their favorite parts! Audience lines give you a chance to chit-chat with your fellow film lovers, so you hear the buzz about all of the films playing at the festival! Who knows, someone else may have just seen your new favorite film! There are 3 different lines, based on which pass or ticket you have. Line 1 is VIP/Filmmaker/Press – if you have one of those passes, then you are seated first! Line 2 is for Festival passholders. Line 3 is for the Flex Pass/Single Ticket holders. If you want to be seated with one of the earlier lines, you can upgrade onsite at the Festival Ticket Center anytime during the Festival!
10
15TH ANNUAL
We’ve got a cool way to get tickets and passes!
The Festival Ticket Center (located a few doors down from the Harkins Scottsdale 101 Theatre – there’s a big sign; you can’t miss it) is the place to purchase any tickets or passes or to pick up tickets and passes you purchased online. Remember, even if you have a pass, you still need a physical ticket to see a film and the Ticket Center is where to go! Our friendly ticketing staff at the Ticket Center are there to lend a hand to make sure your Festival experience is the coolest! But while they are cool, they aren’t magicians, so be sure to get your tickets early to make sure your choices aren’t sold out, because once tickets are gone, they’re gone! Our suggestion? Buy a pass. With so many great films playing at the festival, you can save some money and catch more films!
We’ve got more than just movies!
Well, if you get tired of watching movies all day (and let’s face it, you’ll need to take a break at some point!), we’re giving you the opportunity to check out the biggest film party in Arizona! It’s our treat. Don’t forget to check out the Arizona Republic Party Pavilion during Opening Weekend. Just hop on the trolley and you’ll find out just how cool a PFF party is. Within the Party Pavilion you will find DJs, bars, parties, as well as free seminars, great partner booths where they love giving stuff away, and our silent auction where you can buy movie-related memorabilia and help out this amazing non-profit! And yes, this will be the best weekend of your life.
We have the coolest volunteers!
Please make sure that if you ever have any questions, ask our friendly Volunteer Staff! They are always smiling and wearing shirts that say Festival Crew! They are more than happy to help you out with any question you have about the festival. We have over one hundred volunteers who work on the festival, and just like you, they love movies too! So there you have it. All of these things add up to the Phoenix Film Festival being one of the coolest festivals in the world. But don’t take our word for it! Go experience it for yourself! We’ll see you at the Festival!
