The 70-200mm lens is ideal for portrait, sports and wildlife photography. With a low f-stop number it allows a shallow depth of field if desired. This lens has a tripod support attached to it. MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE The 85mm lens is ideal for portrait photography. It has a very low F-stop number which allows the user to manipulate the depth of field to their liking. This lens is also quite popular for events photography such as weddings or parties where the main focus is one person/couple.

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE The 8mm Fisheye gives an extremely warped look to any picture. Whether the user is on a full frame SLR or not, the lens will provide an extremely wide angled image. On a full frame SLR such as the 5D, the fisheye is so extreme that a little cropping will occur around the edges of the image. Ensure you remove the filter ring adaptor from the front of the lens before use and this can severely crop your image.

Sigma 8mm Fisheye F3.5 Lens

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE The 90-300mm lens is ideal for any shots that need to be taken from distance. This is often ideal for sports as well as nature shots where the subject may be easily alarmed. This lens is ideal for situations where the user cannot get past a physical barrier to get close enough to their subject.

STUDIO

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE The barn door attachment can be fixed to the Bowens portable lighting kit to give the user more control over the direction of their light. By reducing or increasing the angles of the doors, the user can select how the light touches their subject.

Barndoor Attachment

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE The Lastolite pop up background is very portable and easy to use. It is easy to carry and can be constructed in 5 minutes. The vinyl train attaches to the base of the background with velcro and wipes down easily. To avoid shadow, Bowens lights can be placed inside with care and training. You will need an induction in setting up the background before using it.

Lastolite Pop-Up Background

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE The portable background stand is used for setting up a home photo studio. It consists of a horizontal bar to hold up the background roll, with side stands to alter the height and support the roll. The user can slide a background roll over the top bar and it will easily roll out and down to the floor. This creates the illusion of a completely white and empty space around the model. You will need to provide your own background roll. This kit only provides the stand itself.

Portable Background Stand

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE The pop up velvet background is ideal for portrait photography. The black velvet material is designed to absorb the light leaving the background completely blank. Using a black background as opposed to white can enhance shadows to make specific parts of the model stand out more where the light touches them while the darker areas blend in to the background.

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE The Bowens portable lights allow the user to set up their own studio in a home environment. They give the photographer control over their lighting in their images to ensure a professional finish to their work. There are several attachments that can be used with the lighting kits for different effects such as softboxes for a more diffused, soft light for beauty shorts.

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE The Pulsar radio triggers allow the photographer to use the Bowens light heads as well as external flash guns without the need of long sync leads. Another advantage of using Radio triggers over infrared is that the transmitter does not have to be in line with the reciever in order to fire the flash.

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE The Honeycomb attachment can be used with the Bowens light heads to change the lighting effect of your images. The honeycomb allows an even spread of light, as well as diffusing the light for a softer result.

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE The infrared transmitter allows the user to wirelessly fire an infrared based flash. This is ideal in studio situations to avoid hazardous wires on the floor. The transmitter fits to the hotshoe of a camera so it will automatically fire the flash when the shutter is pressed.

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE These light gels are designed to cover light attachments to affect the colour of the light and create different environments when shooting. There are 11 different colours (with 2x red to make the 12 pack) providing a range of different options for users to take a unique approach to their shoot. When using with a Bowens light kit, request Backlight Reflectors so that the gels can be clipped over the lights.

Light Gels (Pack of 12)

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE Using a light reflector in an image allows the user to manipulate the light around an object/model. The reflector can be used to alter the angle and fill of a natural or artificial light to compliment their photo. Reflectors can come in standard Gold and Silver, or an additional cover can be used allowing a black or white option too.

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE The softbox kit is designed to fit the portable Bowens studio lights. The softbox diffuses the light in order to provide a softer look. This can reduce shine from the model’s skin as well as complimenting the face as opposed to casting harsh shadows. You will need an induction in setting up the softbox before using it.

Bowens Portable Softbox Kit

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE The studio kit can be taken into our on-site studios or taken out with the portable lighting kits. It provides the user with everything they need to use the studio lighting. The sync lead and hotshoe allow the camera to connect up to the lights for the flash whilst the lightmeter allows the user to test the light and their settings before shooting. You will need this when using the studios or the portable light kits in order to set off the flash.

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE The snoot attachment fits onto the Bowens portable light heads. It gives the light a more directional effect with a circular look to it. The snoot is often used to light a patch on the subject such as the face without leaking light to the rest of the surrounding area. It is commonly used in portrait photography and to create a highlight on the hair.

MEDIA STORE CATALOGUE The Bowens Travelpak allows the user to take their Bowens lighting on location without the need for a power socket or generator. The user can run two lights off of one battery pack however this will double the refresh rate of the flash. To get the maximum amount of images and the quickest refresh rate it is best to run one light per battery. Not all Bowens lights can run off of the battery, check you have the correct lights. When running lights from the battery, the modelling bulb will not run, only the flash bulb will work.
