Glinka – Ruslan and Lyudmila Overture Rachmaninov – Piano Concerto No.2 Rimsky-Korsakov – Capriccio Espagnol Mussorgsky – Pictures at an Exhibition

Conductor: Nicolae Moldoveanu Piano: Alessandro Taverna Following its roof-raising return to Chatham in October, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) is back with a feast of Russian masterworks; from Rachmaninov’s ever-popular Second Piano Concerto to Mussorgsky’s imaginative collection of vivid soundportraits. "The Orchestra was electric, the strings... on masterful form. The brass gently warmed the texture or smashed clean through it with confident blasts, and the woodwind, too, were very much alive to the demands." The Guardian

European Ballet presents

Coppelia Directed by Stanislav Tchassov, principal dancer with The Bolshoi Ballet, European Ballet presents a colourful and exhilarating version of familyfavourite Coppelia. When local inventor Doctor Coppelius makes a life-size doll, Franz falls in love with it. Full of humour, beautiful scenery, handcrafted costumes and exciting Hungarian dances. A sentimental and comic classic that has wowed audiences since its Parisian debut in 1870.
