Employ Medway’s aim is to support local businesses by providing a high quality workforce throughout Medway. We are currently running several programmes to help local employers: l

In partnership with G4S and other local providers we are delivering the Government's Work Programme, providing professional and personalised support to enable Medway residents to get back into work. Since June 2011 we have supported over 200 people back into employment.

l

We have set up over 100 apprenticeships in a variety of businesses throughout Medway — these apprenticeships are subsidised by the GAPS project.

l

We deliver highly-acclaimed European projects like SUCCES, which provides pre-employment training and support; this is complemented by the new IMPRESS project, providing in-work support to employers and customers throughout the Medway area. We also have other European projects enabling free/subsidised access to NVQ's, workplace learning and redundancy support services.

Since opening in 2009, Employ Medway has helped more than 500 organisations fulfill their recruitment needs.

The range of projects spearheaded by Employ Medway provides a complete support package both for companies and potential employees. While economic conditions are challenging throughout the country, Employ Medway aims to develop the local labour market to ensure that all businesses have access to a world-class workforce.

“This support has meant one person a day has been helped back into work since the center opened, with over 800 local residents moving into sustained employment.

I thank all those involved in enabling this programme to become such a success and look forward to its continuing contribution to the development of the local area.”
