Explored the sustainable approach towards architecture in terms of spacemaking and materiality while analysing its impact on an individual’s lifestyle, this internship provided me with an insightful experience on how to develop contextual designs through community participation. Brief internship period in this multidisciplinary firm, introduced me to the complexities and solution development in respect to large scale projects with a highlighting exposure to the Project Management ascpects of our profession.
Throughout my work period at this novel practice, I was provided with opportunities to observe and explore nuances of architectural profession while understanding the importance of forming strategies to build a cohesive design system. Exposure to small scale architecture on an individual level to large scale architectural projects such as JW Marriot and few mixed group housings came as consultanting opportunities in collaboration with other firms. My appointement often enlightened me on the challenges and resolutions on the front of team and client management with highlights on design awareness and interpretation during my interaction with different people across all stratas of society. I have regarded architecture as a portal of creating spatial experiences for the users while providing a visual identity to the space and maintaing its functional character. It surely has helped me evolve as a designer with an initial approach to observe, identify the context through the user’s perspective and then proceed onto solving the complexities meanwhile the technological advancements keeps me intrigued to explore the horizons of our discipline.

The first concept included a mezzanine space on the southern facade which would act as a solar lounge while creating a sit out underneath, keeping in mind the ease of accessibility for the elderly family members at both areas.

Inculcating the basics of Vaastu Shastra, spatial planning in the ground floor accomodates the primary need of a multipurpose hall which would function as a living room for visitors and a teaching hall otherwise. Further on the same level, a master suite for old aged parents, a guest room, a kitchenette and prayer space with direct access to backyard are planned for ease of accessibility both for the old age and guests.
